i think the hopping is due to rubber build up on the glass.
you can usually see where the rubber is by where the water beads.

wash the glass well, then wax it with regular ole car wax.

i usually hit the wipers with armor all when i do rest of it, keeps them from drying out.
spray on glasss right above, let run down & along wipers on it's on.
residue wipes off quicker than you would think.

i had some MICHELINS from Target - did pretty good.

i've got some BOSCH from advance on now - few months, just pure junk.
hop, skip, and CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK when they change direction.

annoying they are SO LOUD, won't cheap either.

be going back to target soon.

Believe it or not there is a TSB for this condition http://www.dodgeram.info/tsb/2006/23-014-06.htm. Now who would have thunk it!

Let's throw this one out there to! http://www.dodgeram.info/tsb/2005/23-005-05.htm. I wonder if I can get warranty paint job if paint from a fender transfers to my belt when washing my truck.

Here is what I've done to solve my chattering, blades lifting while driving in heavy wind/rain. I work @ VW dealership and I got a couple of the VW blades, with the little wing on them and installed those. They work GREAT. The wind hits the wing and pushes the blade against the windshield.

If all else fails then try just a small glob of petroleum jelly on each blade. This should stop the wiper hop and cause the rain to bead up and run off.

Disclaimer: I will in no way be held responsible for visibility after the above cure is used.

Clean the glass real good and apply some "rain x". You won't need wipers!!

Or you can do like they do is some countries, like Russia, where parts are at a premium....remove them when they are not needed, only have them on when in use!

Yea, nothing like being in a down pour digging wiper blades out of the toolbox in your truck to put them on.

been ther done that

get a set on PIAA wipers and your problems will be gone for a couple years. refills are also available for them when you need them
they are like a silicone squeegee.
Had em on my last three trucks and took em off my 03 i sold a couple weeks ago to but on the new 06
you can do a google search for Piaa wipers and order them on line (seems i have seen them on ebay too.)

i just did the wax on the windsheild for now and sanded the blades. but now, no rain so we'll see what happens.

i've seen those sure wipe springs before but they were not very attractive.

i like buchshot's idea, where can i get a set of those fure sure man, i think that'll work pretty well. but arent they ugly too, if not, can you send a pic to prove it?

no rain.....don't yall have rain in a tube out there...most people call it a water hose.....

I bought some of them very expensive teflon wiper blades, and they would not clean the windshield at all...just streaked it. I took them back, got my money back, and bought the cheapo's...they cleaned the glass just fine......
