A friend of mine and I went from Mich. to Arkansas with his 97 ford and my dodge. He had a 18' trailor
with about 850 lbs of poly tanks and some steel on it. I had my dodge with about 1800 lbs
of steel and tools on it. At every fuel stop he used double and greater the fuel I did. Hard to
believe that Ford need that much fuel to do the same job.

Just one thought, How tall where the loads? Wind drag can make all the deferent’s in the world. I agree that your truck should get better mileage than the Ford with equal loads, but not that much btter. Where the loads the same height or was he bucking the wind and you pulling a low load? .

OOps ,did not notice the 1992 model that explains it . I agree you will get much better mileage.
My 91 model 2500 would get 21-23 MPG. At today’s fuel price I wish I had it back.
I only get 18-19 MPG with the 02 3500.
