Considering selling my truck... should I part goodies first?

Considering:
Trading as-is in on a new midsize sedan.
Selling as-is outright on the side of the road.
Swapping as much back to stock as possible, then one of the two above.

Right now its about 270k miles, southbend ofe clutch, motometal 16" wheels with 315/75/16 toyo M/T tires, full ranchhand bumper in front, a different full bumper in back, bed caps, nice delta pro toolbox.. and the basic mods like Edge comp and stg 5 injectors.

Would you all try to return it to stock as much as possible or is it not worth the time?

Is it worth the hassle/cost to fix small things? (it has had minor transfer case leak for 2+ years, i add about 1/2 to 1 qt every 6 months), needs brake pads, and windshield, and a dash bezel.

Never really sold/traded in a vehicle before, i usually just call the junkyard to pick em up.

Hey, it's a good truck. I'd leave it as-is and, maybe, fix anything that really needs fixing. Ask yourself, would you buy it from someone in the condition it's in for the price being asked.

Stripping things off may lead to more trouble for you. If it's doing ok now, put a sign on it and sell it yourself. The only way to get your money out of it is to sell it yourself. Given what you will probably be asking for it, it should sell pretty easy.

If your selling private party, keep the stuff on and ask for a little extra margin on your price basing the condition. If you trade, take it off cause they won't give you near what its worth.

Is it paid for? You can always fix the little things or have a payment for the next 4-5 years.

I'd pull the Comp and injectors. Unless you sell it to somebody who knows what they are doing they are likely to trash the motor - so you are doing them a favor to take that stuff off.

Ull never get outta it

what u have into it, Hence the dillema with me sellin my truck and biting the temptation of a commonrail.. why not just keep it and bear with it? My solution to the problem was buy a ford ranger... hey it worked and i still have my 500 plus horse toy at my beck and call when i want it...

Best of luck in what u chose to do... perhaps here on the forums if u sell it ull find someone who better knows it and understands it

You really need to look at the market for this. Typically if anyone has to go get a loan they won't be able to get any more than 100% blue book value. If you are happy with the blue book value of your truck then sell without pulling anything. If you want more than kbb then pull what you want to save and expect to get no more than 50% of what you paid for each product. Check it out on KBB and NADA see if you like what you can get private party or if the dealer will make it worth your while to just drop it off and pick up your new car(not typical).
