Considering buy a welder and plasma cutter
I currently have a stick welder(old lincoln that was given to me when my grandpa died).
I would like to get a plasma cutter, looking at a miller 375 or the 375 extreme(around the 1100 price range)
For a welder I was thinking about a miller 211, or 212 but not sure I understand the difference between the two. (around the 1100-1500 price range)
I know how to weld and use a plasma cutter pretty well, took several classes in high school and weld and cut stuff in the prototype shop at work. So I have knowledge how to use them. Would use them for fixing stuff, and building things like bumpers, wood splitter, snow mobile stands, and stuff, for personal use and friends. Plan to have them the rest of my life, I'm 25.

I don't know anything about those 2 models, but sure can't go wrong buyin blue...
For welders, I'd look at Hobarts as well. They're made by the same company, great quality, but a little cheaper. I've run several Hobart and Miller 110V mig welders and couldn't really tell a difference between machines.
I've got a Hypertherm 1000 plasma cutter. Might look in to those as well. Great machines.

Agreed, I own a Hobart and have welded with several Millers, can't go wrong with either one. Hobarts are a little cheaper, but the nice thing is, half the parts are interchangeable. In fact, I have a Miller gun on my Hobart right now. Comparing the 2 you have in mind, they each have their seperate advantages... The 212 is a bit heavier duty unit. The duty cycle is higher on the 212, 60%@160A, while the 211 is 30%@150A. The 211 has Miller's multiple voltage plug, making it more portable. My buddy has a welder with MVP, it's nice. You can plug into a 110V or 220V (although you can't weld real hot with 110V) The 212 also has a longer cable, so you aren't moving the machine around as much. My Hobart only has the 10ft gun, and I'm constantly moving it around to reach my work. They both have the auto-set feature installed...which is new to me, it appears you no longer have to know wire speeds and amperages/voltages anymore, just set wire seize and steel thickness and you are good to go. I personally would rather know what voltage I'm welding at, and be able to adjust my wire speed.

Im pretty content with millers. I personally have the mp250 and i love it. The miller 211 and 212 looks pretty awesome takes the guess work out for first time users. the 211 will run off of a 120v and the 212 wont

Don't know much about the 211 or 212. We have a 210 and a 135. The 210 is a little older, my dad bought it new, has the optional pulse/spot panel on it, thats a nice little feature if you do sheet metal work.

I looked at hobart stuff, but most of it was more expensive then the equivalent miller stuff, not to meantion I like the blue color. I know that an airforce 400=375 miller plasma, yet the 400 was about 100-200 more everywhere I looked.
