Confession Time: When Was The Last Time You Checked Tire Pressure?
I checked mine today; 45PSI in the front, and 48 in the rears. Aired them up to 55 PSI in the front, and 50 PSI in the rear.
If you are wondering why MPG's are down this may be a contributing factor.

I think running higher pressure in my tires is causing them to cup. I used to run all four around 60 psi, now only 50. Maybe someone here has anysugestions. I have 305/70 r16 muds by Cooper....I think I mayhave gotten 25k miles out of them and they're just about toast.

Checked them right before the several hundred mile meca to her parents on the Texas line and then to my parents on the Kansas line and then back to the center of the state. Man...I hate that. ONE OR THE OTHER WOMAN!!! We have got to start rotating Christmas'!

Checked em at the beginning of the week cause I had noticed a nail in the right front tire. Then the tire shop checked all of em again when they fixed the nail on Wednesday. I usually try to check them weekly for the simple fact that I commute with this truck...

Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
I run 70 psi all the way around and I check them at every service interval (every 3750 miles) to make sure they're still at 70. I also check them before taking a trip out of town.
Some may think 70 psi is too high, but I think that is ONE of the reasons I get some good fuel mileage...less rolling resistance.
I did this with my stock tires and got over 75,000 miles out of them.
I do need new shocks though.

I commute in mine too. I work around construction for a living and just recently got my first nail in this set, after almost a year.

A friend of mine had some Michelins put on his F350 a couple of years ago - the shop filled them with nitrogen at that time.
I went with him a couple of weeks ago to trade his F350 in on a new QC CTD 2500 4x4 (yeah - he converted) and for the heck of it I checked the pressure in those Michelins - every one of 'em had 70 lbs. in them. He told me he'd never added any air to them - I didn't really believe the nitrogen could make that big of a difference, but I guess so....

lCheck them about once a month, Or when starting on a long trip. On the trip when I refuel I use the the infered temp gage and check the tires and brakes tempatures. It is a quick walkarount.
