Spent most of yesterday clearing snow and putting up lights. Moving the tree and the furniture back and forth was a lot of it... Maybe over here...no try over here... lets try in that corner. Had to coordinate it with all the rest of the jungle in the house. Hard to put a 10 foot tree in a house, even with a sunken living room.
When we went to get the tree there was a jeep parked beside the portable fence at the store. People kept leaning trees on the fence to get at the back ones. Just so happens that when we were there the fence decided to fall on this guys jeep. Went really slow so didn't do any damage. While he and the wife went in to tell some one I picked up the trees and the fence. Owner of the store came out and said our tree was on the house. looks good all decorated in it's final resting spot.
Warmed up here, to about -5*C or so. All roads in the area have warnings on them because of black ice. Wind is picking up to so thats not going to help. I can see lots of fender benders happening today. Think I will stay home,relax and have another pot of coffee.

Annnnddd... I'm back. Looks like I'm leaving on the 17th to go back to the fleet... no word on my extension, so I'm starting to check out. I don't know what I want right now, to stay or go... I think that I'd rather stay, but... oh well. At least, if I go back now, I'll get some good time off for Christmas and the new year.
Almost lunch time. Think I'm gonna go eat a big salad... later tonight, I think that I'm gonna go eat some oysters.

Back from the snow pile.....sniff sniff
had a blast, ate bison, perch, and hobo cherry pies were my contribution.
last time I had to eat in the snow,it was C rations (hated the eggs) now it was the MREs and I have a fondness for beef stew. miss the chocolate dessert B-2s though....
FIVERBOB, yeah- I'd be the one you'd be watching out of the cozy window.
we hiked about 30 miles this weekend, and rode a belgian draft sleigh, tracked atv, found an wwII army truck on a back trail, and got to sleep in the Mohawks (St Regis Indians) long house. met so many good people, hard to believe they existed anymore. one town had a Charles Dickens Christmas because he summered there...free food everywhere,tiny tim and all walking about, very nice, could have stayed there till Spring.
home now, did chores, picked up tree tractor-running all perfect now and didn't cost much to have the injection pump rebuilt. respectful of the power now. ice and snow here. son loaded up the trailers for wood, chipped ice on the pond, it is two feet and counting, thick. city slicker spun out and went over the wire guides of the road onto two big norway pines, appearantly was under the influence as he got out of his import SUV ..and fell approximately 70 feet to the ravine creek below. hospitalized but still stupid. we are now taking bets on when the suv will fall......

Mid afternooer all,
Houston is now cool and sunny, be fun to go out and do something, but have to stay close to the phone. Expecting a call from the arbartration that the wife is at. Spoke to her a few minutes ago, she sounded good, maybe it was the prime rib lunch she had.
Haven't tried the hogies yet, will do it soon.
Scott don't have to dress up to be one of them wise guys.

Yea, Im still home relaxing... well, still in the country.
we will see what happens overnight with emails. I got my boss supporting me staying home and VPs asking why I need to be there to hold the field guys hands...
