Christmas trip home
Just wanted to share a few pics from my trip home at Christmas. I made a wide swing to the west on the way up to see an old buddy that had moved to Missouri, then on to Ohio. Allot are just your run of the mill stuff but a few are the you can't make up stuff like this. Hope you enjoy.
I ran up on this just as I was leaving.
Not too eventful on the way to Missouri. This is a roadside junk dealer in Arkansas. The large log looking thing in the middle of the pic is a travel trailer.
This is my buddy's place in Missouri. He moved his dairy farm there about 6 years ago.
Gas prices there were not too bad.
I spotted some painted horses grazing on the way out of town. They were a colorful lot although but their social skills seemed a little rusty.
Cruising through Illinois there wasn't much to entertain me so I had to find my humor where I could. It was nice of the Illinois DOT to provide me with a chuckle, "Exit 83 Ina 1/2 mile".
I stopped in Indiana to shoot some geese that were looting a grain field. There were so many I couldn't get them all in one pic.
I did get a little embarrassed when I got ran down buy a GMC running on wood. I don't feel too bad though, the fire box was as big as his entire bed.
Here I am at home, main street in Amsterdam, Ohio. This place makes a one horse town look big.
Stopped by an internet café/game room in Carrollton to log on here. Couldn't help but shoot the warning in the men's room. The girl that runs the place with her boyfriend has a real sense of humor.
Shot these guys on the way up to my buddy's place just outside of Amsterdam. The one on the right is an 8 point and the one on the left was between 10 and 12. I actually drove by them three times and was just zooming in when another car rolled up behind me and they took off.
On the way back from Canton one afternoon my sister and I took a shortcut through Waynesburg. I had to loop the block for this one. It's not every day you see a discount casket store. They didn't say if there inventory was new, used or repossessed.
Heading back I ran into a sale on port-o-lets. It's hard to pass up a bargain.
When I got home my daughter and grandson were visiting so I got in a little spoiling time too.

Not a hunter in sight Rusty. I couldn't even begin to count the geese in that field, there were thousands. I took a pic of the side of the road because it was covered with grain. I guess the harvesting equipment must have had a problem and left allot on the ground.

Nice pics Rick, glad you had a good time. Chevy would have looked real good with smoke coming out of the stack. Bet Heidi would like to get her hands on that boat for a test run. Grandson looks like he's growing like a bad weed. Spoil them and then send them home, your evil. Thanks for the pics.

So where's the pic of the casket an port a potty in the back of truck....Been by that Ina sign a million times an never read it like that. So that where the geese are now....some farmers will leave some grain for them as they migrate, keeps them out of other fields. Would have been fun to chase GMC down and ask his MPC...miles per cord
