Chew on this... unofficial 2009 Ram intro
Here it is guys and gals... the 2009 Ram was set to be introduced this week at the North American Auto Show(Detroit Auto Show). I guess some overzealous journalists decided they'd break the story a few days early...
Allpar-2009 Ram
My musings:
It looks like Dodge will be having split body styles again as this writeup mentions nothing of the 2500/3500/4500/5500 trucks.
I predict that in the future, if you can't get the new crew cab with a full 8'-0" bed on the 2500/3500 trucks, Dodge will have alienated far too many buyers(current and potential). That's obviously the biggest complaint on the Mega... no factory long bed.
Factory dual exhaust on the Hemi equipped trucks...
I guess it will be an interesting week as the official announcement is made in Detroit.

Those are some nifty looking storage boxes in the bed. And under floor storage? Is this a smuggling compartment
Looks okay. Verdict is still out till I see one a in a lifted 3/4 1 ton version.

well now that I have seen it in other colors and from different angles, I am kinda depressed. Looks like a ford with a Dodge grill. What were they thinking. I know it will grow on me. Just have to look at a new chevy or tundra to realize Dodge is still the best looking.

Here are more pics too....

Think the interior w/ the center console like that looks like the Grand Cherokee...trucks should have bench seats
I'm not to big on the box in the side of the bed....how much space is that given up??

No more mega, atleast not in the 1/2'er.
No Cummins UNTIL 2010.
Grill is no longer attached to the hood.
In my opinion I think it looks like a cross between a Toyota Tundra, and a Lincoln Navigator, and I will be buying one.

I think it looks better than what I'm driving. I can see how the boxes could be a turn off to some people. It looks like they are even with the inner fender well. If they are strong and water tight they would fit my needs real well. If you have a shell or a slide in they are pretty much useless and you've just spent $$$ on something you can't use.
The front of the truck mostly the grill looks like an S 10 pickup to me.
I've never liked the look of my Dodges but I bought them anyway. I like this new design.

No more trucks built in Mexico?
"The Dodge Ram pickup truck will be built at two Chrysler manufacturing facilities in the United States, St. Louis North (Fenton, Missouri) and Warren, Michigan."

I like it. The only thing that I don't like at first glance is where the shifter is, I like the center console, but you lose that extra seat, and the molded bumper for the duals. Everything else I like so far...

Looks like the headlights might work this time. They took a que from Ford and moved the shocks, that should smooth out the ride a little. I don't like the console, too jeepish and I might not fit.
