Chevy transmissions
Reverse has gone out on the transmission in my Chevy twice since it was new in '97. Today a friends Chevy (2001 6.0 K2500 4x4) also lost reverse. Does anyone know if this is an ongoing problem with the Chevy transmissions?
It seems a little more than a coincidence.
Please no wisecracks,......after all I do own two Dodge trucks.

BTW....got 300 miles on my new '03 HO and love it!!!!
The only negative comment I can make is the TC seems to lock up a bit too soon. (48RE)
Maybe my current Chevy will be my last.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't get any answers to your question here, take it to the ATS site and ask it there.

If anybody can help you with that information, they would be the ones. Below is the link.

http://forums.atsdiesel.com/

Re:Chevy transmissions
My 97 Z-71 started going down hill from O.D. down through the gears. My buddies 97 2500 the same. I feel for ya, everything after 96 is real expensive. Don't ever do a pwer back flush, make sure you flush the lines. The guys that built mine, wouldn't warranty umless the cooler was replaced. I'd say not to get a factory replacement. Find a good builder, it can be built better for about the same price.
