Very true...But now it's just empty homes. All those 600-700k homes are bank owned and selling for 300-400k. Grew up in Antioch and when I was young, Brentwood was basically known because you went through it to get to Stockton or Vasco rd. and the Sand caves off of Marsh Creek.
They tried to turn it into Blackhawk East and the market couldn't support it.

Brentwood.
To be specific, the business part is the 3 mile bit of San Vicente Blvd, starting at 26th St. and ending at Wilshire, still some distance from BH. To get there, you still have to go through Westwood or Bel-Air. Lotsa and lotsa $$$$ there, along with a ex-O.J. I just spent Memorial Day there, my Dad's 85th b-day. Got to see the infamous Ahhhnold himself, complete with a bodyguard who gave us a real stinkeye, at the local Starbucks. I returned the favor.
When I grew up there it was a nice place, now it kind of makes me sick, way over the top.
No drive-in.

Bridgehead is now a Super K-mart/Burger King/AM-PM, Solano Drive-in is still running in Concord, they remodeled it recently.
Antioch does go literally all the way to Brentwood now, Lone Tree Way is full of stores from the Antioch Golf Course all the way to Old Highway 4 (Main st.) Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, Penny's, Chuck E. Cheese, Movie Theater, Walmart, OSH, Mervyn's, Chili's, Bevmo, Winco's, the list goes on and on and on.
Antioch and Brentwood both have waterparks with water slides now.
The Highway 4 By-pass is complete...Starts at the curve of 4 right past Hillcrest before the old Oakley HWY 4 (Where the dirt bikes used to play) and it goes all the way through to Marsh Creek.
Antioch has 2 zipcodes now.
Mapquest 4893 Lone Tree Way Antioch, CA 94531 (Walmart) and then switch it to aerial image you can see most of the new stores, even that map is outdated. You can see the By-pass isn't completed yet, but you can see it runs along side Neroly rd.
Highway 4 is 4/5 lanes from Concord to Railroad and then 3 lanes until Loveridge, they'll start widening the next section shortly, 3 lanes to Somersville.
Laurel rd is about 2 blocks shy of hooking up to Hillcrest in Antioch, should be completed soon.

So one ladies van battery dies at the elementary school and another one offers to help. They don't know how to hook the cables so they figure if it doesn't work one way, they will reverse it and try again. Was a good car fire by the time we got there!
