I agree.
A set of quality heavy duty jackstands is much cheaper than an extended stay in the hospital....or worse.

Using cement blocks to support a vehicle is an accident waiting ot happen. Someone already suggested "cribbing". Use some hardwood, like oak, and lay them one direction and on the next course lay them the opposite direction (90 degrees different). If jackstands aren't build correctly and placed with proper support they're not any better.

Don't EVER get under something heavy enough to end your life HOPING whatever you found handy to hold it up will work!
