Capacity of concrete blocks
Anyone know the capacity of a standard 2 hole concrete block? I thought about using them under the tires, not driving up on them, but jacking the truck up then putting the concrete block under the tire. I have jack stands but they don't go real high, the blocks under the wheels would be alot higher.
Have used the block method on gassers for 40 yrs, but these trucks are no lightweights!!

I would add a 6" x 2" slab of wood to distribute the weight better. Don't lay them on their side, stand them up like you would on a foundation.
What are they setting on?

Too many people have been killed by using cinderblocks to support the vehicle they were under.

if you can weld, it would be no trouble to cook up some super heavy duty ramps that you could use. I would be nervous about the cinder blocks. I would say that if you are going to use them. put them on edge and use a thick plank on top.

I have some 2x12's that I nailed together in a stair step fashion, they work great for me. Be careful, man. I do stupid stuff all the time, so I'm not gonna call the kettle black, but safety first. I'd hate for something bad to happen to you.

We use three 6x6 logs nailed together with 2x6s wrapped around the edges for support. We use to just put the skid steer bucket under the under carraige fro the plow and pick it up, but we sold that,so now we just do a little stack of wood in fornt and rive up on them.

[QUOTE=JKM;1434085]Whatever you do, don't use the light duty car ramps, they soon become slightly flatter
Alright you guys convinced me! I squashed a set of ramps just like that with my '98, but I didn't take pictures (Wanted no evidence)! I knew to put the blocks holes up & put a 2x on top. But still felt uneasy . I have (2) 3.5 to 4 ton jacks, man are they hard to pump & a lot of strokes. Guess I'll bite the bullet & buy some new bigger stands.
