Called cops on my neighbor
I hated to do it but they moved away about three weeks ago. Left all their cats behind. We've been leaving food and water out for them reluctantly, cause we really don't want to adopt any cats. About three that we can tell are theirs. He came back looking for them Monday. I kinda thought that maybe if they wanted them they would have taken them with them three weeks ago.
Anyway, they arent here any more so they set live traps and caught them and they died stuck in there in the heat. He just set the traps out in the middle of the yard. Not under the porch or shade. No water in the traps either.
I'm by for not a fan of cats but that just wasn't right. I took pics of them but I'm not going to post them. I kinda have an odd feeling inside about this. i don't like "getting anyone in trouble" but those poor guys had an awful last day on earth.
The sheriff that came out wasn't happy either. he said the judge really wont like this.
I guess I'm just venting here a little.

You did good. Even if I DON'T like cats. Had something like this a little while a go, which included dogs. Fortunately the neighbors had a lot of good info for their I.D.

I never understood why people do stuff like that to animals. I hope they burn for that.
1-2-3, good for you on making the call. You didn't get them in trouble, they did it to themselves.

Good call! As much as I give cats a hard time, this was simply wrong.
I guess you maybe ought to count your blessings, they have moved, and it's probably good that they did.
How much trouble would it have been for them, if they would not take the cats to thier new home, to just drop them off at a shelter? I know of one here that has a 24/7 drop off policy. Wouldn't that have been the right thing for these people to do?
And - thank you for leaving food and water for them.

Also agree on what you did. Animal cruetly for me at least, is the worst. Simple because they cannot defend themselves and do not know any better. Some people are really sick, and I thank you for what you did. I too hope they pay for there actions in some way!!!!

Ditto on the above. You did the right thing and hopefully the law will catch up with them. If they did it once, they will do it again.

I'm NOT a fan of cats especially ones that are left outside. No animal deserves to suffer like that. You did the right thing by calling the law. Hopefully they will pay for thier actions

I'd have done the same thing. I'm no cat lover but an animal, especially domesticated ones, put in our stead, deserve our respect and kind treatment. I hope the judge does deal with him for this, I know my Judge will!
