Guess they tried that way beck and found out that there are dips and valleys in the pipes, even in the house, and it will still freeze. I don't want to go thru that, mainly because some of the house piping is IN the cement floor so if a pipe were to go bad there, it would mean jackhammering up the floor where we *THINK* the pipe is, making a repair and recementing.
Gesundheit!
And yet you come here.
Morning all.
Still on gen power. Still cold. Still snowing. Yada, yada, yada.
Today is Tuesday, February 22nd.
On this day in 1630 - Quadequine introduced popcorn to English colonists at their first Thanksgiving dinner.
1819 - Spain ceded Florida to the United States.
1855 - The U.S. Congress voted to appropriate $200,000 for continuance of the work on the Washington Monument. The next morning the resolution was tabled and it would be 21 years before the Congress would vote on funds again. Work was continued by the Know-Nothing Party in charge of the project.
1859 - U.S. President Buchanan approved the Act of February 22, 1859, which incorporated the Washington National Monument Society "for the purpose of completing the erection now in progress of a great National Monument to the memory of Washington at the seat of the Federal Government."
1860 - Organized baseball’s first game was played in San Francisco, CA.
1865 - In the U.S., Tennessee adopted a new constitution that abolished slavery.
1879 - In Utica, NY, Frank W. Woolworth opened his first 5 and 10-cent store.
1885 - The Washington Monument was officially dedicated in Washington, DC. It opened to the public in 1889.
1924 - U.S. President Calvin Coolidge delivered the first presidential radio broadcast from the White House.
1984 - The U.S. Census Bureau statistics showed that the state of Alaska was the fastest growing state of the decade with an increase in population of 19.2 percent.
2002 - In the Philippines, An MH-47E Chinook helicopter crashed into the ocean. All 10 men aboard were killed.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If you had x-ray vision, but closed your eyes, could you still see?
Luke warm coffee & ph00 are as ready as they're gonna be.
Gesundheit!

Didn't realize you were, sorry.
To infinity.....and beyond.
Where's Bark, he needs a new challenge.
Hmmm....
Morning.
Breaking news, the Somali pirates that hijacked the American yacht have shot the 4 Americans on board. The yacht was being followed by an American military vessel and was boarded after gunshots were heard on board the yacht. Some of the pirates were killed, some captured. IMHO the remaining pirates should be turned over to the families of the Americans.

Morning. Cold one today. Scott, was thinking about ya, listening to the power updates (or lack of) on the radio.
Thanks for that comment Tim, I do realize I'm not the only hard worker on the board here though.

Your welcome, I meant it in a way that only someone that has to communicate with a dispatcher that KNOWS their area could appreciate. Your getting screwed but so are the troopers that are loosing you knowledge base and expertise. There are certain operators we have that I dread working with, then there are several that make every situation better by knowing what to do and preemtively doing so on their end before I have to ask them.
We operate easily and comfortably knowing the butt in the seat has our back.

Mornin' All!
-3.5* this AM and windy......... It did stop snowing. Local paper is reporting 18.5-20" depending on location for the last 2 days. Not quite a 2 day record for here but close.
I helped a guy install a lift in his garage that had radiant floor heat. To keep from setting the concrete anchors into a heat pipe, he called out a FF friend of his to use one of those thermal imaging scanners and marked all the lines using that. Piece of cake to find them pipes.......
Figure 8 on a bight was a good choice but a bit too long and bulky for my plow setup. I ended up using an anchor knot and it held up well so far. After I get off work this week, I'll re-braid the eye and quit worrying it.
I got a couple more driveways to clear out but all the really important ones are done. then it's time to thaw out the plow and other snow removal stuff.....

Top's Younger Twin
Greetings. I knew that strong south wind would bring some relief. Temp went from the minus 20's up to -6C today but for only one day.
I have an extra day off tomorrow. Then 4 on and then 16 off. Did I mention that before? I think I did. I know I did.
