still kicking
It's been a while since I've been in.
Still kicking and running up and down all the highways.
Daughter in law totaled out the red 01 Sport. Picked up an 07 3500 four door today. 5.9 with a 6 speed. Lots of differences over 6 years.
Headed to Ft. Hood, TX on Monday and trips later to Redmond, OR, Barstow, CA, Ft. McCoy, WI, and elsewhere. May actually be going to McKinney, TX in a couple of weeks.
Hitting the rack, eyeballs trying to slam shut.
Shortround out

That's OK. We weren't appreciated when we came home. Soldiers did what they were told but the public treated us like it was all our fault. That was as bad as being there.
It's not until recent years I admitted to being there. When people asked me about this 14" scar in my answer was a car accident. Or a gaul blatter. . .
Nope. . . Count your blessings.

KS hit 112 yesterday, third highest temp since 1887, beaten only in 1936 during the Dust Bowl.. but we are finally "cooling off" to 96 tomorrow!

Gosh FO, that's bad. We all need some cooler weather in a very bad way. It's getting oppressive now. Lakes are down. Water supplies are low. Energy consumption is high and supply is near capacity.
Today I ran around trying to find some soccer cleats for the fall season. I was out of luck as every sports store had the same three basic models. That's ridiculous. Anyway, got the other gear I needed though. Guess I'm ordering online.
DH made the comment that it was a long week. I'd say so, for everybody it seems. Yall keep those chins up and keep going. Everyone will get through.
Have a good night.

Holy Cow!! I assumed you were dead or pickled or something. Glad to hear you are still kicking.
LoL! The one I remember was very offensive to Alaskan's, had something to do with cats, Eskimo's and rhymed with told.
No wonder I couldnt find it. My search engine filters out stuff written by crazy Marines.
Like E. A. Poe, Chaikwa does tell a great tale. But also like Poe, too many of those tales will lead to madness. He has been there but never quite made it back.
As I have said before, I feel bad for people stuck in hot weather. I would die (really). Yet I cant help but whine about being stuck in the rain again. Its been raining here off and on since Heidi left and I am sick of it. Oh well, at least I can stand in the rain without it killing me but the wife and I are wishing we could have at least one hot day. Thought I was growing webbed toes but its just some sort of wet weather fungus.
Seriously, with all your traveling, let us know where you would want to settle permanently if you could afford it. I am getting sick of the cold. Sick of the rain. When I go South I get sick of the heat and I prefer speaking English. Any ideas?

Morning all.
Feelin' like this mornin'.
Today is Thursday, August 4th.
On this day in 1790 - The Revenue Cutter Service was formed. This U.S. naval task force was the beginning of the U.S. Coast Guard.
1892 - Andrew and Abby Borden were axed to death in their home in Fall River, MA. Lizzie, Andrew's daughter, was accused of the killings but was later acquitted.
1914 - Britain declared war on Germany in World War I. The U.S. proclaimed its neutrality.
1922 - The death of Alexander Graham Bell, two days earlier, was recognized by AT&T and the Bell Systems by shutting down all of its switchboards and switching stations. The shutdown affected 13 million phones.
1944 - **** police raided a house in Amsterdam and arrested eight people. Anne Frank, a teenager at the time, was one of the people arrested. Her diary would be published after her death.
1964 - The bodies of Michael H. Schwerner, James E. Chaney, and Andrew Goodman were found in an earthen dam in Mississippi. The three were civil rights workers. They had disappeared on June 21, 1964.
1972 - Arthur Bremer was found guilty of shooting George Wallace, the governor of Alabama. Bremer was sentenced to 63 years in prison.
1983 - New York Yankee outfielder Dave Winfield threw a baseball during warm-ups and accidentally killed a seagull. After the game, Toronto police arrested him for "causing unnecessary suffering to an animal."
1990 - The European Community imposed an embargo on oil from Iraq and Kuwait. This was done to protest the Iraqi invasion of the oil-rich Kuwait.
1993 - Stacey Koon and Laurence Powell, Los Angeles police officers were sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for violating Rodney King's civil rights.
1997 - Teamsters began a 15-day strike against UPS (United Parcel Service). The strikers eventually won an increase in full-time positions and defeated a proposed reorganization of the companies pension plan.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see it, do the other trees make fun of it?

Have a safe trip Blake. If you were coming this way, I could help with a road report, but you're on your own out there.

Morning folks.
Blake have a good flight.
Bark, we should trade weather. These extremes are terrible. Looking to be another hot one today.
Almost Friday!
