Couldnt help it. Borrowed the three Lord of the rings movies from a friend and watched them all tonight on our new flat screen TV. We were sitting about five feet from the TV with the surround sound on. Im going to have weird dreams tonight.

On this day in 1492 - Christopher Columbus left Palos, Spain with three ships. The voyage would lead him to what is now known as the Americas. He reached the Bahamas on October 12.
1900 - Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. was founded.
1914 - Germany declared war on France. The next day World War I began when Britain declared war on Germany.
1923 - Calvin Coolidge was sworn in as the 30th president of the U.S. after the sudden death of President Harding.
1943 - Gen. George S. Patton verbally abused and slapped a private. Later, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered him to apologize for the incident.
1981 - U.S. traffic controllers with PATCO, the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization, went on strike. They were fired just as U.S. President Reagan had warned.
1985 - Mail service returned to a nudist colony in Paradise Lake, FL. Residents promised that they’d wear clothes or stay out of sight when the mailperson came to deliver.

I've always had mixed emotions about that one. However, it happened. But I bet that guy was a better soldier. I guess some of have been in he trenches at one point or another. Being scared is no fun. It messes up your aim at the little fellow with the straw hat shooting at you. I used to be scared all the time. And I was in logistics. Front line logistics. Heck, they issued us M1's. Could do more damage with a 16 though.
Off to Phili today. No mid day DTR fix for me

Where coffee, oh the pot is cold. Fixed and made fresh. If it tastes like mud it is because if was fresh ground a few minutes ago. Needed a jack hammer to clean the ph00 pot so there will be good ph00 untill Scotty arrives.
Let the Dragon out to do Dragon things. Dragon? Glad we don't have an elephant.How did the blue paint get on the Dragon?
Got the marching orders for when and where everyone's favorite "Lunch Laddy" reports for duty Tues Aug 16. Same school I was at last year. I had put in for one of the two schools a half mile from the house. I could have walked to those schools.
Polaraco didn't know you ended up in ER. You all fix up now?
