Mornin' all!

Drizzly day today, but I came up with something to do.....
My first attempt at smoked pork shoulders. Love me some pulled pork so I might as well learn to make my own....

Rear main seal didn't happen yesterday. The big sky garage had a leak in the roof, that and that stupid tranny looked way heavier than I felt like manhandling.... I decided to rent a trans jack on my next week off.....

Would love to have a smoker, I love just about anything smoked/meat.

The NV4500 is not bad at all on a floor jack,.

I became old(er) last week, 27 and still working on graduating from college, another year and I will be what most mechanics hate, an engineer.

Afternoon everyone

Marc, that prok shoulder looks good. I love pulled pork sandwiches. When I smoke a pork shoulder it usually takes about 8 hrs, think I might have to smoke a pork shoulder here one weekend soon.

Dinner tonight are bone in thick cut pork chops, scalloped taters, and corn.

I haven't got to the smoker yet, but we brine our pork butts and slow cook them in the oven... if you'd like a good recipe, let me know, I'll get you one. Transmissions are heavier than you think... so are transfer cases!

Afternoon, fellow DTR loyal. Just got back from San Diego, spent the weekend with the family, I'm bushed. Love that bike, but I got some bird poop on me about 10 minutes into the ride, locked the brakes up thee or four times, went sideways a little once, and almost filled my drawers up. I'll tell you, I'm thankful for my rider training the Corps makes me do, it saved my butt.

Gotta get busy, a little home work and some cleaning to do. Gotta do a country brief tomorrow.

See ya'll in a bit.

I use a smoker but my BIL does his puller pork in the oven too. I've never had it but I heard it is good.

Good deal.

Been busy, buddy. In school in SoCal, great weather, good times. Two weeks left before I go back to Yuma.

Ours would be in the thousands too if we didn't do 'em right the first time.

Something like that. I have to give a 15 minute brief on Iraq with a powerpoint... funny, all the crap I know about that place, and it's gonna be a pain to do.

You're lucky it's only 15 minutes. In December I have to give a 2.5 hour lecture on Jake. That's a few months away still, but you KNOW I'll wait 'til the last minute to prepare anything!

This was my first one in a smoker. I've done them in the crockpot with decent results before. Send me the recipe and I'll give it a try. As for the trans/t-case, I know they are heavy. Got a line on a tranny jack.

Today's attempt came out pretty tasty.

Made a pretty fine pulled pork sandwich. I'm not gonna starve today. Took about 6.5 hours to smoke. Gotta slow it down just a bit.

Good grief! Just let Jake give the lecture, you will just drag him down.

It's not as bad as the brief I'm gonna have to give to the DTR high counsel about you... they want me to start from the beginning... "In 1620, chaikwa helped lead the Pilgrims..."

I'll have to ask the boss... it might have to wait until I get back from CA... just remind me.

You might want to leave out his reasons for bringing sheep instead of goats. It was a long trip.
