Mornin' all

Hot one in HOU again today heat index 105 to 110. Setting records for heat and power usage. No black outs yet. As the lakes are drying up they are finding lots of stuff. A part of a fuel tank from the Columbia found the other day. Old human remains. No rain in sight.

Redleg good job on the coffee and ph00. Got to the the ph00 before Scotty gets here.

SR long time, good to see you back. Have a Army son at Ft. Hood. Hope your DIL ok after totaling the truck.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see it, do the other trees make fun of it?
No they leave.

Blake, have a good trip, write if you find work.

Red3/4 you having fun while on that training? Almost finished way to go.

Shorts you a bit hotter than here in HOU.

Have a good un, and be safe out there.

Hey DTR faithful! heheeh army cadence. instantly had a PT run, march, and class A echo through the brain.....
one drill sgt did all the companies with guys who had no rythym because he was so effective and precise, he used a tape player as he lost his voice box in combat. MPs had to attend EVERY session regardless of company soooooo no free time. hearing I was a music major, he had me pick current radio hits in five music themes, in four cadence speeds. wonder to this day if nine songs were loved or hated by those guys.....one I was most impressed with when this Drill Sgt did the funeral, Color Guard and flag ceremony procedures to new hit "Iron Man". each a different part of the song. one just for fun where they danced in formation.
slowly drag left heel forward for three counts then right foot stomp next to left and pause. (funeral procession with casket) guys were humming the theme, not worried about anything else. awesome somber experience when seeing the official ceremony with such precision, hearing the 60 man units dragging foot and stomping. (10 caskets, Viet nam era)
I seriously think everyone should have to do one year of military service at age 17-19. no excuses.

bought a nice car (03 pontiac gran prix) for the charity project i am finishing. nice car, mechanically sound, 4 door- 500 bucks from the local junk yard.
146,000 miles but solid for these ol folks to get around and park the tied together frame, chevy crew cab hazard. they are currently using my jeep to drive themselves the 200 mile roundtrip to the cancer hospital to stay with their 'special' son. he wants me to bring him home, then I am done volunteering despite these folks never asking for anything, just common sense need and a hug for tough times. ready to kinda be by myself.

fun welding projects today, avoiding phone calls. hope all of you have a great week and get some rest or cooling!!! hubby avoided going to see sisters in tx just due to heat. wow.

Greetings.

My sister's surgery went well. They were not able to remove the tumor without removing/replacing the carotid artery in that area with one from her legg. She goes home this afternoon.
My mother is moving around better, still has pain but better.
The lane will be done today.

The sun is shining.

I had an accident in the Pho0o0 Pot. Sorry.

The training part is ok, it deals with using the MDTs (Mobile Data Terminals) in the company trucks. The instructor I have is pretty good and keeps the class interesting and the 10 of us in it awake. They also have the best tasting coffee in the Company at the training center! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but the brew they have is good. Friday is my assesment test, shouldn't be to hard to pass. Since this new computer system was implimented in Jan '11 several hundred workers took the class and only one had to take it over in order to pass. I'll have some more company training this fall and winter for single phase and 3-phase electrical.

Evening DTR. Relaxing tonight and enjoying the cool weather. Standing up in a wedding saturday, my SIL's fiance asked me to be one of his groomsmen. Dinner tonight is reheated stuffed peppers from last night. No room in the kitchen to cook since the wife is baking and decorating her sisters wedding cake tonight and tomorrow.

Seriously... Bergen Norway.
Summers are a balmy 70F, Winters are 20F at the lows. The weather is about like the west coast of canada or southern Alaska.
I would have to be on a local's salary to afford it. most things are close to twice the cost, diesel is a bit more than twice the cost as the lower 48.
Northern Germany would be my next choice. Summers are a bit warmer, but not bad most of the time.

Indonesia is a great place for a single guy and not bad of a visit with the wife, but I wouldn't wanna live there all the time. Temperatures stay right around 70 to 90 degrees year round.

The other places Ive been really is just a good place for the locals to stay.

MATT! mmmmm stuffed peppers mmmmmm wedding cake

scotty glad that she is on the mend! lots of healing going on!

did they sell T rad and Larry Topper? both have been like Obama's humility......scarce.

projects, some barn organizing, venison sausage with garden potatoes, peppers, onions and celery skillet fresh tomato salad for suppa, bike ride through the state park, visit with a friend, lil adirondack bear ice cream, home to shower and spa outside. ahhhhhh. don't even care what I do tomorrow, today was good.

put up game camera. something wicked this way comes....
new 2 lb. nut suet block inside the metal wire cage disappeared. nothing else disturbed. something woke up hubby AND cat with a growl louder than the a/c unit and two fans few days back. new block installed, get pics tomorrow
hopefully. my science mind thinks a deer standing on her hind legs, licked the block all up, yum yum. no clue what growled without being threatened.

chaikwa boy, i got your plasma cutter all up and running. lil cleaning and patience now cuts quarter inch steel. yours if ya want it back. let me know.
