Well Shorts, you beat me by 3 minutes.

Shovelhead

Tim says he needs one and Bob says he's ready for one too so let's all go on vacation.

I, personally, am traveling during paid time off for the purpose of visiting family so that office would say that I'm on vacation even though I don't call it that.

Night shift checking in to make sure that the new breakroom is open and ready for business. Dumped the old coffee and refilled the maker. First one in, push the button please. Wiped down the counter and threw out a few sleeping donuts so it you hear a clatter in the dumpster out back, that's them. Dragon needs a bath this week if anyone if feeling adventurous.

Night all.

I hate it when that happens. At least you cleaned off the counter. Cant believe there arent any donuts. Guess I will have to go out back and see if there are any in the storage container. Always a lot of neat stuff in there.

Where's 'over' these days?

Morning all.

Today is Sunday, July 31st.

On this day in 1790 - The first U.S. patent was issued to Samuel Hopkins for his process for making potash and pearl ashes. The substance was used in fertilizer.

1792 - The cornerstone of the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, PA, was laid. It was the first building to be used only as a U.S. government building.

1932 - Enzo Ferrari retired from racing. In 1950 he launched a series of cars under his name.

1945 - Pierre Laval of France surrendered to Americans in Austria.

1948 - U.S. President Truman helped dedicate New York International Airport (later John F. Kennedy International Airport) at Idlewild Field.

1971 - Men rode in a vehicle on the moon for the first time in a lunar rover vehicle (LRV).

1991 - U.S. President George H.W. Bush and Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev signed the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty.

1997 - In New York City, NY, police seized five bombs believed to be bound for terrorist attacks on city subways.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Live every day as if it were your last and someday you'll be right.

Morning folks. Sorry about the donuts. I open the break room in a hurry and it was the first time I had the keys. Plus I ate the donuts.

DH came in yesterday and I picked him up from the airport. Also good news to share, he got a big promotion - Manager to Director. That's really cool.

Nothing big planned today - excellent

Keys? Chaikwa's got you thinking that you need keys to open the breakroom? This place has barely got a door, let alone a lock that needs a key. You gotta watch that guy. I'd bet that the key he gave you is to that secret door behind the urinal in the men's lavatory.

Morning all. Off to visit with family this afternoon.

Try to enjoy a day off rather than an off day.

Morning folks, another 24 wonderful hours on duty yesterday. Home for a bunch of yard work while the sun is shining. (rather be out on the bike).

Scott, I know truckies in your department don't do much but my truck co measures its call volume by the thousands. Went to a water leak last night, it wound up being a domestic dispute that the female threw water in the males face. How dispatched gorked up that one is beyond me? I love walking into a domestic with turnout gear on, yeah we are the cops!!??? Had a report of a structure fire, we get there only to find out it was a report of a "fight", gangs going at it. That was fun also. It's all good.

Well, water DID end up on the floor so I could see it being considered a "water leak".

Hmm, a fire fight instead of a fire to fight. Not good. Did ya turn the hoses on them to cool the situation off?

Morning Tim. Hope you can sneak a ride in sometime today.

Morning Blake. Enjoy your "unemployment" before your trip to PA.
