Happy Monday!
Today's the 25th day of July.
On this day in 1805 - Aaron Burr visited New Orleans with plans to establish a new country, with New Orleans as the capital city.
1861 - The Crittenden Resolution, which called for the American Civil War to be fought to preserve the Union and not for slavery, was passed by the U.S. Congress.
1866 - Ulysses S. Grant was named General of the Army. He was the first American officer to hold the rank.
1868 - The U.S. Congress passed an act creating the Wyoming Territory.
1934 - Austrian chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss was shot and killed by *****.
1941 - The U.S. government froze all Japanese and Chinese assets.
1943 - Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini was overthrown in a coup.
1946 - The U.S. detonated an atomic bomb at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific. It was the first underwater test of the device.
1952 - Puerto Rico became a self-governing commonwealth of the U.S.
1956 - The Italian liner Andrea Doria sank after colliding with the Swedish ship Stockholm off the New England coast. 51 people were killed.
1994 - Israel and Jordan formally ended the state of war that had existed between them since 1948.
1998 - The USS Harry S. Truman was commissioned and put into service by the U.S. Navy.
1998 - U.S. President Clinton was subpoenaed to appear before a federal grand jury regarding the Monica Lewinsky case. The subpoena was withdrawn when Clinton agreed to give videotaped testimony with his lawyers present.
2010 - WikiLeaks leaked to the public more than 90,000 internal reports involving the U.S.-led War in Afghanistan from 2004-2010.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Why do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front?
Coffee's ready.

Morning. My Friday. Kailey staying with my brother this time around. I only have 2 days off so I'm gonna shoot up north from here. Normally it's 2 hours in the wrong direction to go pick her up. All right, back to work...

Yeah, I'm back. Got a buddy down here with motor-home problems. Late 90's Freightliner with a 5.9 that's down on power. I'm betting filters will do it but we have to find them all. It'll be a fun morning. Have fun on the water. Take the camera and enjoy the ride.
Morning all.
Morning all.

don't know whether this is related to my advanced age, but I have had a problem with my throat for over a week now
saw the doc last Thursday and he told me it was either strep throat or a virus, gave me antibiotic pills and told me I'd be better in two days
well I can barely swallow lukewarm water without wincing in pain as it gets to my adam's apple
is this how dang old people lose weight?
have to pass on the coffee too

JWBM, I think Sortie is putting dog-dish hubcaps on his steel wheels on his 1st gen. - OEM style.
Late morning all. Saw two donuts duck into the bathroom when I came in. They're safe there cause I sure ain't going in after them.
Sprinkles this morning and supposed to be 103* this afternoon. Can you say humid?
Trying to get the motorhome ready to leave for points east and north tomorrow. Still a bunch of organizing and packing to do so I'm outta here.
Stay safe
