I thought it was neat too but it doesn't change the fact that nobody talks to me with flash cards in a foreign language. (unless you include your accent)

Evening...

I posted in the Prayers section. My sister had a meeting with the surgeon and two specialists where there from the Cancer Clinic. The tumor and one of the lymph nodes that were removed from her neck are malignant.

Our world has been rocked by this news. She is 42.

The CT scan of her neck has to wait until the excessive swelling is reduced and she will be having the scan no later then Aug 30. Tests are being scheduled for Monday.

I will be strong and help where and when I can.

Scotty

Morning all.

Today is Saturday, August 13th.

On this day in 1784 - The United States Legislature met for the final time in Annapolis, MD.

1846 - The American Flag was raised for the first time in Los Angeles, CA.

1907 - The first taxicab started on the streets of New York City.

1932 - Adolf Hitler refused to take the post of vice-chancellor of Germany. He said he was going to hold out "for all or nothing."

1959 - In New York, ground was broken on the $320 million Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

1961 - Berlin was divided by a barbed wire fence to halt the flight of refugees. Two days later work on the Berlin Wall began.

1992 - A gunmen dressed in military fatigues shot and killed three people and wounded four others before killing himself. The shootings took place in a plant nursery in Watsonville, CA.

1994 - It was reported that aspirin not only helps reduce the risk of heart disease, but also helps prevent colon cancer.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.

Coffee's on.

Morning folks.

Prayers from here, Scotty.

We got rain, started early this morning and still sprinkling. Sky is gray and looks like it could be a long soak. I hope so.

Scotty, wow. Prayers for your family and hers. strength and peace.

I am sooo ready for a day at the beach, even if it is my pond. back to work.

Cape is in for an oil change

Scrapple is probably worse than a Double Big Mac with Cheese.

Eat scrapple and call the cardioligist for a quad

'bout lunch munch time,
Not sure what it will be yet. Wife at WallyWorld.

Still hot here, Outside temp 102.3°F on fancy digital thermometer. Shorts send that rain down here to Cypress, please.

Made a deposit at the Blood Bank today. Plasma and red blood cells. Always fun. Got T-shirt, cupon for pint of BlueBell icecream and a Chic-fil-A sammich.
Hmm that might be lunch.

Scotty, thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
Chaikwa, Experience teaches me thing I would rather not know, most of the time.

Wannabe some day it will cool down here in TX. The DFW area don't get the humidity that Houston area gets.

Blake, that winter shut down don't sound like a good plan to me. How long would it be, and would you come back home? Or find more work up there? Good luck.

The Dragon is in a snarly mood.

Have a good un and be safe out there

Afternoon

Scotty, thoughts and prayers to your sister, you and the family!

Not a bad week at work, weather was perfect all week. Temps stayed in the upper 70's and low 80's. Doing the yard work today and then i'm gonna start canning some of the tomatos I pick from the garden this week. Gonna can some tomato sauce and maybe some stewed tomatos. at this rate i'll be canning most weekends for a while, garden is producing very well this year.

Whoa - - that is not good news. Sorry, friend. We are praying for her and you.

Been working night and day all week - - no time to catch up or post - - sorry. Still love ya'll, but all that gushy stuff will just have to wait. I have four weeks of work on my calendar and we leave in 10 days. No way, Jose.

OK, gone and knock out another two days work in the rest of the day. Stay cool - - it is nasty out there.

Bob
