Got it.

Out the door we spent around $2,500 with an open bar for 2 hours and an endless beer tap. Like I said that was back in the day!

My tux rental is $237 and change. Think it was 60 bux back then.

At the J&J I won the new 42" 240hz led tv. I finished a beer and looked at a buddy of mine and said I'm hitting the head, come in and let me know when I win the tv. he cam in as I was leaving and called me a bunch of stuff while laughing and said I won. Heck I been storing it and moving it around for 3 months.
WoW! She's sparing no expense. I think ours was around $10k, no alcohol but we paid for everything. Are you sure her new husband is going to be able to support her in the lifestyle she's become accustomed to? Congrats on the new tv.

Finally we told her here is 25k, anything over this is on you two. While I may have been laughing Hiedi I was crying on the inside.

Heck, I told here get married in the back yard, we'll through a huge barbecue and you can use the rest of the money for your honeymoon. She just looked at me with that look that her mom taught her.
Absolutely!

Afternoon all.

Looks like it is squaring up to be some hitchin' ceremony. Congrats on gaining a son-by-law.

Trad, ours also was less than 10k (either 7 or 9 total, can't remember). But we had an open bar for a certain amount of liquor/cocktails and backed it with kegs for the entirety and started with a bottle of wine on each table. From the stories I heard years after, no one went thirsty

NE, I have a spare fire bell for your stove alarm...
Trouble is, first time I used the stove, I turned the timer ever so slightly- and couldn't get it to shut off. Never did get the hardware out here to fix it. I use the microwave timer and it just beeps once.
I'm not exactly sure how you took that comment, but I MEANT you have an 'entrance' end and an 'exit' end! And the exit end is 'one-way' as far as I'm concerned. The first thing that camera would see is the sign that says 'Wrong Way - Go Back'! If they can't see what they need to see from the on-ramp end, they ain't gonna see it!
Scary I've said that too, but nowhere near so eloquently.
That is sad. I love lasagna esp if the top cheese is browned but not burnt.
This was pretty good even if a little bland. But all it cost me was some ground beef. This was about 3/4 of the way from that impostor that claims it's lasagne, but holds it shape when you lift it out of the pan, and the real stuff, that oozes out into a blob on your plate.
Ouch! Sorry to hear that.
I was told to call the county attorney, he'd probably knock it in half.
The north side of 40k for this wedding, I was beside myself and surprised that they go a LOT higher
40 grand??? For a wedding??? Holy crap! That's about $39,995.00 more than I'd be willing to pay! I figured IF I ever got married, I would charge people to attend it. 1st of all, no one would believe it so they might pay just to see it. 2ndly, I know people that would pay to see me dressed up! (not that I'd dress up for a wedding, but they wouldn't know that) 3rdly, I figured I'd find out who my REAL friends were pretty fast by who showed up and who didn't! After-all, knowing me comes with a price! As for the open bar... yeah, it'd be open. If you got enough money, the booze will keep flowin' too!
Oh crap this is scary! My first thought was "I wouldn't spend that on a truck!!!"
You could do like my uncle did. Buy a keg of Yuengling's, he had about 3/4 keg for himself after the wedding. The bride's sister and I only drank it when we ran out of cash for more palatable drinks. And I don't think anyone else had any. My friends who got married last summer bought a bunch of beer and some Captain Morgan and hired a local bartender to serve it. Then she had to send someone after more captain. I think Travis said they went through 7 gallons. Then it started getting mixed with Peach Tree and I think they used about 3 gallons of that. After we cleaned up I think both of Bart's refrigerators were full.

Lary, did you give that guy who was telling everyone that had a bad experience with DTT that they are just crabby malcontents the ban hammer or just delete all his saber-rattling?

Picked two ticks off me when I got home. Corry felt a couple on his back today too. Hate them dang things. Just baked some cookies. Gotta get to bed, got a big group of calves to work tomorrow. Took the group in Friday and ended up running someone else's cows through the chute so they could be preg checked. Wild things. Barely got through the gate and one about had me for lunch. Didn't feel bad about using the cattle prod on those ones. When we get one that wild, we send her down the road. They bought 40 of them like that.

Mentioned I about needed a new hat, and Corry and I both left with 2 each.

Thumbs up

Morning folks.

Scott, good Jake is eating. He is able to keep it down right? Talked to my cousin and she worked as vet tech for a bit. She said they had a Lab that exhibited the same thing as your Jake was doing. She said after trying many different foods, checking for allergies, blockages, xrays, etc they had to do exploratory surgery. They took tissue samples of the stomach and intestines. Just when she was getting to the solution (I was really excited), she said she couldn't remember what the problem ended up being So, does this help you at all??

JWBM, things are looking good right now. I got my new oil and fuel filters for the truck. Bought some big girl toys. Got taken out to eat and got a little birthday party thrown with some good cake. My phone rang out of my pocket all day long with good wishes. And word that someone is finally getting on his way home Got some other things going in the background, mostly to do with prepping for the move. But things are good.

Oh, except for the jury duty summons. I got a summons a day after DH did. That's what I get for laughing at him.

Morning all y'all,
Hvytrk, that sounds like it is setting up to be a nice wedding. Hope it all goes off as planned. When DW and I got married 4 years ago she had one goal in mind. She wanted a party for our friends. We had the ceremony on the back deck, and the reception in the yard. We live a bit out in the sticks so we told people to bring their trailers so that drinking and driving wasn't an issue. We found an awesome caterer who made good food not fancy food. Dinner was roast turkey with all the fixins. It was a huge hit. After dinner, the deck became a dance floor and the firepit got sparked up. All I could ever hope for anyone is that they have as fun a wedding as we did. Good luck and happy days to you and your family.

NE - dude, I am starting to think you work too hard. People sometimes ask me if I ever think about retiring and farming our land. My answer - NO WAY!!! Farmers work too hard. My friend Louie is 83 or 84 and he works 7 days a week. He runs mixed hay / grain / cattle farms in Alberta (home), Colorado and Nebraska. I get tired listening to how hard he works.

Shorts - happy for you that DH is starting to head home.

JWBM - you work too hard too!!! BTW, DW would love a Grizzly Bear carving in front of our house, do you know anyone who does those??

Top & Scott - if you two are going to be dancing the chorus line, I might have to crash the party. That would be worth seeing.

DW and I are heading over to harvest the neighbor's raspberry patch this afternoon (got invited BTW), so tomorrow will be jam making day. Turkey sausage making festival will be Thursday. So far, it has been an awesome vacation.

Play safe all y'all

BTW - DW figured out the other night that Bailey's and Amaretto (seperately, not mixed) make awesome snowcones.

An amaretto snow cone?? That is a summer treat Gonna try that, thanks TG for the tip. I could use one right now. Got the yard mowed and some trees trimmed. It's warm out there.

How's the raspberry picking? We use to pick blackberries in WA then we'd make pies. Hot pie and vanilla ice cream
