I'm STILL whittling away at Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.
Then I'm going to do the Lincoln biography written by Carl Sandburg-- or attempt it (whew!, it's 3465 pages in 6 volumes!) If he can WRITE it in a lifetime, surely I could read it through, right? I'll probably wimp out and do the single-volume 750 page version in paperback.
I very rarely read fiction. I'm far more interesting in actual events-- history, politics, economics, etc.

I'm with ya there. There is so much interesting stuff that is REAL, why focus on anything else?

The only "real" war history I know of right off is a book about the war in the Aluetion(sp?) Islands during WW2.
Clancy stuff reads as if it's real or at least possible. W.E.B. Griffin is just great!

The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splended Suns by Khaled Hosseini
The Spectator Bird by Wallace Stegner
Crossing the Unknown Sea by David Whyte
The Only Kayak by Kim Heacox
The Piano Tuner by Daniel Mason
I would read them all again but too many good books...... too little time.

Shame on you, not a single one of you is re-reading your CTD FSM!
I'll admit, I am on the second go-around.
Other than that, I am taking a break for awhile, for some reason DTR is comprising most of my reading now....

I'm continually facinated by my personal owners manual (the Bible). The manufacturer really knows his product and all the things that can go wrong and will go wrong. Once you realize that you really messed things up If you ask He will come and take care of your problem personally. If fact, He already has fixed the problem and you just have to be willing to let him help you do things his way now.
God Bless you
