That is a real pic. it's my understanding that the guy in the pic is the nephew of one of the guys that works out here. It was killed in south Arkansas. Notice the color of the hog. We have a number of pigs that end up in the wild and become feral hogs. The guy was hunting the day before and the hog jumped him while in his truck. It nuked to door and sheet metal on one side. If memory serves me right, the hog went around 800 lbs. Took 3 shots from a 7mm Mag to bring it down.
I'll see if Pat has the newspaper article.

Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
I posted that same picture here not too long ago. The story I read about it was very similar to what shortround said. I'm sure it's a real hog. I've seen hogs that big before (not wild hogs, but that one almost looks like a Hamp gone wild).

Just to give you an example of how hard big boars are to kill,
we put 3 shots from a .44 mag @ 10' into a 350lb boar's head, and He was slingin dogs the whole time. He finally staggered a bit, and fell over after the third shot. He killed one dog, and had 2.5" tucshes.
It looks liket they are beginning to skin that raschal! I bet that was some rank meat. I wont keep'em unless they are under 100 lbs, or its a sow. Ill keep a fat sow no matter how big she is!

No....I don't like blood stains in my bed.
A guy I went to high school with had a big Hampshire boar hog named "Thunderballs" (he was used for breeding of course). If I recall correctly he was in the 800 pound range. BIG pig.

A co-worker had access to land clearing out feral pigs for ranchers and farmers in central CA. He loved hunting, and initially was taking bow hunters, handgun hunters, and rifle hunters out. He stopped taking bow hunters out pretty quickly after too many close calls, then quit taking out handgun hunters, and finally stopped taking anyone out. He'd give the pigs to the local migrant workers and would sometimes keep the tusks. In one incident he commented that he and his son spotted one, he had his son take the shot, but due to some buck fever the shot was misplaced and they just wounded the pig. It charged, they jumped into their full size pickup, and when the pig hit the side of the truck it lifted two wheels off of the ground. He managed to kill it with two rounds of 7mm mag, from the driver's window.
