I use just soap, water and one of those blade deals. Just start at a corner, and keep the glass moist..

Go to the hardware store and get some of that thin Plastic drop cloth stuff (or go to the dry cleaners and get some of that thin plastic they cover clothes in). Wet tint with soapy water and place the plastic on the window.. This will cause the tint to sweat between the glass and the tint and help release the adheasive.. Pull it off and then clean what little is left with a new razor blade..

The best way I have found is to spray the tint heavily with amonia. Keep it wet the whole time. It will penetrate the film and soften the glue. With a bunch of new razors, it will come off very easy. The fumes will get to you if your not carefull, so make sure your in a well ventelated area.

You may also consider using a heat gun and a razor. If it gets too hot, the film tends to break, but the heat lossens the adhesive, so the trick is to get it hot enough to melt the glue, but not hot enough to melt the film.

Yip the heat gun works, and also on the plastic film trick, it works better if you park the truck in the sun. The heat and plastic film helps soften the glue faster. I used this trick to detint a rear window with defroster lines. I save the liner from the windows I tint to remove tint if I have to.

Tint
Depends on how good the tint is. My last tint job was good. grabbed the sheet and in one pull tore off all the tint. Sprayed the glue with amonia, waited 10 minutes and scraped the glue off. Cleaned up with some windex and done, about 15 min a window. Worked great.

you can do it a couple times if you want to lighten your tint.
putting the light plastic film on it, and make it wet, let it sweat, usually best way if tint is old...it'll rip into peices if you just try to pull it.
