isn't the 450 a 1-1/2 ton? a bit heavier axle and suspension.

Your right fair had nothing to do with it. the only head to head was the drag race.
By the way, where I used to work we would move three fully loaded railcars with a 1964 forklift that had a Continental flat head four cylinder in it. Moving it was easy stopping it at the correct dock door was the tough part.

Yep entertaining and that was about it!

2011 F450 went back to the same axels as under a F350. The F450 isn't as heavy built as it used to be.

This is correct. They also went back down to 17" wheels and tires same as 250 and 350. Why I have no idea.

uhm, so what would be the difference between the 450 and the 350? or did the 350 become a dual wheel version of the 250?

I'm not sure if Ford changed anything for the Job 2 450's, (like the power upgrade for the 3/4 and 1 ton) but our trucks at work are F450s and have a lower hp/torque rating then even the job 1 250-350s, as well as 19.5" rims. Maybe it's just the CC models that we have that are different? I thought they had something like 330hp/650ft lbs. Either way, they run pretty good and have good power, but with just a topped steel utility body and some stock in them (a few hundred pounds plus the box) they are getting from 9-11.8mpg per the dash. The guy that fills them up says it works out to be about 10-11 tops. Good thing I'm not paying!

Add-a-leafs...

That show was a big joke. Did they even mention waht gearing was? If so I missed it. Do they not think a Chevy or any other truck could pull a supporting wall out of a house? They should've put an equal load in the bed for a 2 out of 3 run as well as a sled pull. The only event close to a real test was the hill climb. They tried to say the Ford got stuck because he burned off his tread earlier. If that was the case he wwouldn't have gotten the bite in to dig up to his axles so quickly.

The american version is a joke. All 3 of those guys are jokes. Watch top gear BBC the REAL one. Those guys are entertaining and knowledgeable about their cars. In their defense however, Top Gear has never been about fair. They put cars in ridiculous scenerios just for the sake of doing it and name the winner as the "best" car. Always an opinionated show.

My favorite quote of the show was when Tanner said, "that chevy is an IFS. Independent suspension is great on the road but not that great off road"... I guess he should tell the rally racers, all atv/side by side manufactuers, and trophy truck racers that.

Yeah, the pick up's version might not be that great, but the Hummer is just fine (military, not mallcrawler). The s10 blazer and trailblazer front ends were junk too.
