I seen thier add today. They have yugo SKS's $149-$229. I take it they run a good business? When you say shipping kills you, how much do you think standard shipping to east texas would be?

I have never sat down and grouped one. However at 50 yards you should have no trouble hitting pop cans all day long.
The one thing that holds the accuracy back of the SKS is the long hard trigger pull. The AK's trigger pull is much easier and smooth.

good place to get reasonably priced ammo...

One thing to think about when buying ammo...
1. Cheap price, usually means they are made of steel casings and are NOT reloadable.
2. Surplus Military are "Usually" non-reloadable aswell because who's going to police brass off the battle field?
3. Re-loadable brass... Your gonna pay for it.

With that said, I have shot Wolf Brand .223 with my AR-15 (about 3000 rds) and not one single jam! Group pretty well, 5 shots within a $.50 piece (100yds). Rapid fire 30 rds barely aiming and still kept every round on target (about 100 feet).

For Real fun... Night Time fun!!!
1000rds... $500....

About short enough range that you would look if you had a scope on it and were not blind.

that is what is typical here. One of my buddys that buys firearms frequently, gets a better deal, but any Joe off the street is going to get charged more.
