Anyone tracking the Hurricane?

Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
Preliminary assessment, one medium tree down, across the fence, and a few large branches broken off, but no serious damage. I don't think I lost any of my chickens, at least from what I can tell at this time.

Looks like someone found one of them.

Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
Thanks to all the well wishes.
We only seen 80/?? MPH winds and only 3 or 4 inches of rain. I even stayed sober for most of this Hurricane thinking it was going to be worst than it was.
Has anyone heard from Dennis or Diesel Dude 4X4?? I 'm down in NC but if they need a hand let me know and I'll hit the road in the morning.
See Ya

Well, 30 hours, 14 minutes later, I have electricity again. I must say, this is sooner than I expected, living in the "boonies" like I do, but I'm ;D ;D ;D
Hey Papa Smurf, that tractor pull you were interested in is coming up this weekend. You gonna make it or did you forget about it and make other plans? See thread in Events forum.

YO,,,,,, I finally made it into work today,,,, we were blocked in and couldn't get anywhere further than a 1/2 mile away from the house till yesterday afternoon. No trons at the house and probably won't be for quite a while. The power lines along Rt.460 are laying in the swamp,,,, trees down all over the place,,,,, BUT,,,,,,,, my old "General Pecan" in the back yard held his ground! ;D I had a few limbs come down onto the carport, but no damage other than a pecan tree between the barn and the fence that is laying over at a 45 degree angle. I'll have to cut that one down because it is trying to lift the rootball out of the ground and half of that is under the side of the barn that my bike was in. I went out there and my lawn tractor was sitting on a mound about two foot tall. Luckily the tree didn't lay over because the rootball would have turned my Harley over before it tore the side of the barn out and dropped the roof down on everything. WHEW! :
So we have the generator running to power the 5er and the main stuff in the house like the TV, fridge, freezer, and well pump. It's only a 4000w, but is doing a good job. ;D
I hope DD4x4 made out OK, I'll try to get ahold of him today.
Does anyone need any green pecans??........ out of seven trees in the yard,,,,,, none of them have any left on the branches,,,,, they are all on the ground!...... tons of em!
We hope everyone made out OK and everything gets back to normal for folks quickly.

My wife and I looked through her cook books for Greenpecanpie and we have not been able to find anything.

Recipes? I'm thinking slingshot! Keep a barrel of these green pecans on the front porch with a wrist-rocket handy, and the next time the neighborhood hooligans are going up and down the street breaking out car windows... Zing! 8)

Heard from joel this AM.
He's in a world of hurt.
No Power.
One tree on the house, another only being held up by the power line.
Another laying on his gooseneck.
No gasoline available, having to run his Gen only a couple of hours a day to save gasoline.
Then there's the problems at his job site,......not much better, they took a terrific amount of damage down that way.
