Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
I don't recall Tech ever playing in any hurricane either. I remember a thunderstorm a few years back when they showed lightning striking a car in the parking lot. Turned out it was the rental car of the ESPN guy covering the game Should be fun to watch though. If the wind catches the ball just right they may be able to kick FG's all night, no matter where they are on the field.

Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
Well,,,,,,
I made it home just in time! Trees are going down all over the place. Rt.460 is totally blocked by downed trees due to the low ground being swamped already and I may have had a long wait in order to get through to get home. So far, the monster pecan (aprox 45' tall and 110' spread) in the backyard is hanging in there. I'm just going to kick back and listen to the scanner and the weather channel. I just heard a State Trooper call in a downed tree on the road blocking her path and while she was calling dispatch to give them directions, another one fell behind her and has her stranded. Poor lady trooper even let a few choice words slip out over the air! NOT a Happy Trooper!

Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
I really surprised that we still have electricity!
Keep up the good work DD4x4,,,,, ;D
It seems like everyone around us is losing it, even the big cities. Normally, we're the first ones to lose it due to the lower, wet ground,,,,, it don't take much wind,,, and the trees just fall over. However, we have had some big gusts that made me hold my breath a little.
I'm dreading the crashing sound of one of the big pecans in the yard hitting either the 5er, carport with truck underneath, the barn with my bike inside and the Jeep parked in front. ,,,,,,, or,,,, Oh yeah,,,,,,, any of them can hit the house too! :'(
Hey Top,
Ya know this thing is headed your way,,,,,,,,, how about turning on the porch light so it can find its way and not hang around here looking for directions! :

Just making the best of a bad situation.
Just trying to keep my head above water over here. Certainly not as bad as TimInVa has it though.

Re:Anyone tracking the Hurricane?
I'm working in a Hospital here in Northern Va and we just lost power. Our back-up generator is going strong. Wind is picking up and I'm getting out of here before something else goes wrong and I have to stick around all night. You guys stay safe.

Tim lives in Va. Beach!! I called him Tuesday and told him he could come up to my place, but he said he was gonna ride it out. I have not received any updates but left him an open invitation.

I'm home. ;D
Even duallys get a little skittish on a bridge when a 40-50 mph gust hits 'em sideways.
House as ready as I can make it.
All personnel present and accounted for.
Fresh batteries in the flashlights.
Fresh 2-stroke in the chain saw.
2 Dewalt 14V batteries on the chargers.
Hope everyone comes through this unscathed.
Holding hands and chanting ....East, East, East, East, East,....... :

for some reason i like the feeling i get when i am in a big storm. your adreniline kicks in and everything. bad thing is there is so much damage, we had 80 mph winds here once and a huge willow truck fell right beside my old truck.....i had to clean my boxers and pants after than one. :-
