Anyone see this truck in Houston??
If you are in Houston and see this truck tell them to title it in there name. I traded it in to the dealership who then auctioned it. Now I am getting tickets in the mail from Harris county toll road authority. I faxed Harris county my info and have not heard back from them. I called the sheriff in my county and he said they have like 3 months to title it. I hope this guy doesn't rob or kill someone because I would be picked up for it!! Maybe I should report it stolen. That may get there attention. [very mad]

I had the same problem when I traded my 02 Ford FX4 in for my Dodge. The Allen Samuels Dodge dealership drug their feet on having the paperwork done. I was getting the letters from the toll road. I sent them the paperwork which was a pain in the butt.

I traded a Ford 250 4x4 in at a car dealership in B.C. Canada.
About a year later I get a call from a FBI guy in Las Vegas asking me a bunch of questions about where I had gotten the truck.
I had bought it from a guy I knew and I told the FBI that.
FBI guy said OK and I never heard anymore.
Ive always wondered what was up and what my old truck was doing in Vegas?

My sister in Round Rock had the same problem with an F-250 she traded. The dealer admitted it was their problem and said they would get it fixed, but are dragging their feet.

I will watch for the truck as I am in Houston. Let you know if I see it. I look at all the diesel trucks that I can.
TX must be primative in the way the change owenrship. In WA state, when a vechicle is sold the seller files a "sellers report of sale" shows what is sold, who sold it and the purchaser. It can be filed on line, mailed, or at a licence angency.
Good luck with the tickets.

Does it have the same license plate on it?? I also look at all Dodge diesel trucks and drive into Houston every day for work. It is uncanny how many trucks that I have seen multiple times and can verify it with the wife because of something I notice that is unique on the truck. That RanchHand bumper with the big bars on it are pretty unique around here. I haven't seen one yet with that bumper style on it. I will keep the look out for it and follow him for a while... from a distance

IIRC, plates stay with the vehicle in Texas. At least that's how it was a few years ago when I bought a Talon from there. I think I even have the plates left over still.

Report it stolen, wait for the impound, pay a couple hundred, and you have it back. We sold a taurus and had same thing. Kept getting anonymous notes in mail, saying we saw you steal this...pay now. Car got impounded and we got the bill. Couldve got it back, but was $500, and car wasnt worth 1000. We went to courthouse and for $10 got title out of our name....you should be able to do that and get tickets dropped at same time.

I think there is a proposal in the TX state legislature now to change that to the lic. plates follow the person....and not the vehicle. Would make much more sense.

I think that's how the other 49 states do it, but Texas being it's own miniature country certainly likes to do things it's own way sometimes
