That was funny. Granted, being the engineer at a major fire is probably a little more difficult.

Britt, we have laptops in all the apparatus, one of our guy's pulled this up at home, so we pulled it up yesterday on one of the mobile's, guess what the deputy heard all day on the station pa system. And to top it off we caught a kitchen/livingroom fire in a high rise and guess what he was saying. I love the crew I work with, my gut still hurts from laughing.

Thanks for posting it,

Tim

We've probably got the same laptops in our apparatus that you guys have then. I love them, they tell you everything that you would want to know about everything in your district. We had a H*** of a fire yesterday ourselves. We could see it from a couple of miles away so there was no trouble finding it. The whole time we were there all I could think about was this skit. I kept saying to the pump crew... "ok, what you want to do is put water on the fire".

Got to work Christmas day and then I'm off for 3 shifts because my wife has to have a minor surgery and I will have to take care of her and my daughter.

Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas Tim!

Britt

Tough books?, they work great, and they are not networked to the city's network, just to the alarm division, so they run wide open, we can't pull up you tube on any of the station computers. I hate following smoke to the fire, you know your gonna be there for the duration.
I have to work Christmas eve and Christmas night, I hope all is qiuet for both of us.

Thoughts and prayers for you wife, regardless of how minor it might be, hope all goes well!

Merry Christmas to you and yours,

Tim

Yep, Toughbooks they are. GPS enabled and my favorite thing... when a run comes in it pinpoints us to the exact address on the map.

I hate to say it, but this has alot of truths to it. Now if I only had my masters in fire science,I might be able to accomplish that task. This over simplfies the job,but the chief likes to over complicate it as well.At any rate thanks for a good laugh Britt!!

Thanks guys. My wife has a Cyst on her ovary and she is going to have that one removed. It is an outpatient surgery so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. At least I hope it's not.
