Can't say that I have stayed in Laredo overnight, but I have spent the evening across the river in Nuevo Laredo once. I would recommend that the accommodations on our side of the river are a LOT better than those on the other side of the river from what I saw on my venture.
BTW, if you decide to go across, leave your truck on our side and catch a cab on the other side..... The drivers in Nuevo are CRAZY!!!!!!
Have a good time and good luck in your comp.

That sounds nice Merrick. Maybe I can swing my the shop if I have time.
We stayed in a place last year that was right on the river. It was real tall, and round, with the elevators in center. It was just too close to the river for me. I just need some tips on places to stay, or places to avoid.

LOL. Yah I know where you stayed. Close would be an understatement.
Close, and on a badside of town would be more accurate.. but still an understatement.
When was the last time you were down?

Cool, my Birthday month. Bring a present,, monetary gifts are encouraged j/k
I'll look around town. Since I live here,, I don't use the hotels, so I'm not too up too date on which ones are good, but I'll take notice driving around in teh next couple days.
On another note,, I just popped the rear-end out of my truck today,, so, the truck is down,,, again.

Years ago, I was in Laredo. I got to our terminal ( I was driving big trucks then) and saw that someone had broken into the building. They tore up the pop machine and ransacked the place. They also painted names on the walls. When the cops got there, a fat one looked in and said to me (after reading the names)" Jose! That sound familiar!!" I thought ...............HERE'S YOUR SIGN!!!

I cant tell you where to stay, but can tell you where to fuel....One of he biggest truck stops I have ever seen is right off of 35 there, I think it is a Pilot; I had to get a parking ticket just to get into the lot to fuel; I made a turn-around to Lareado from college station when I worked for Texas A&M. Have fun and good luck
