I'm in Dale City about 3 hours away from Portsmouth.....
Actually, My father in law is going to come up from Newport News and help me whenever I am ready. He built a shed as big as his house so I believe he knows what he's doing....

The posts are finally going in the ground next weekend!!!!!!!! I am setting them in concrete. My neighbor may be upset because when I measured the yard I discovered that my yard is really about 1 foot wider than I have been mowing for the last ten years....

Did you have it surveyed? When friends of mine surveyed, they picked up a bunch of yard they said their neighbor had been claiming was his, from a foot in the front to a 5 feet in the back! The neighbor was a little upset, but what could he do?!

I am going by the Platt I got when I bought my house. I took it to the county building and they approved the measurements. And it's actually closer to two feet more yard that is mine...
And you know I will post some pics after it's done. I can't believe it has been so long since my original post...

Well, my Father-in-law and me spent about seven hours in 96 degree heat and got all the posts in the ground. I spent $85 renting a worthless 8" auger too. It would get about 6" in the ground and would just stop digging! My father in law weighs about 260lb and he was pushing on his side as hard as he could while I pretty much just sat my 185lb self on the handles on my side. Still nothing! The manual posthole diggers dug the holes just fine so we just started all the holes with the auger and finished them manually. We used a lot less concrete this way too so I guess it wasn't such a bad thing. So, the hard part is done now and I just have to go get the rest of the lumber and finish it up over the next couple weekends. My wife is very happy, that's for sure.....
Thanks for all the advice....

LOL!! I sure hope not!! Once I start a project I get it done pretty quickly. It's just getting it started that is sometimes a problem. I cleaned up all the excess dirt today so I'm ready to get started this week. I also have a three day weekend coming up so I should get a bunch, if not all, done by then....
