I used to mess around in College, never once brought a rope, so not sure if it even counts. We used to head off to the local closed for the weekend quarry, walk down to the bottom and climb out. Stooooooopid things ya do when young. Also used to climb an exposed face wall in the spring looking for newly exposed minerals/ semi precious stuff. Amethyst in 1/2 inch sized crystals and cavaties.

Im 33 and haven't climbed since I was 16 or so. Nothing real seriously, but it was a blast. I guess Im starting to go thru an early midlife crisis because I have been looking at rope, carabiners, speed 8s and trying to get some friends to go see if we can avoid getting hurt... or atleast maimed.

I used to climb quite a bit up until my elbows started giving me problems. I really enjoyed being outdoors with good friends. The price of gear is outrageous a good alternative is finding a good climbing gym.

part of the reason I want to climb is to get out of the gym. I do 45minutes on the stairs then lift weights for 1/2 hour to hour. its getting old and Im getting burned out.

I used to go every day when I was in school. I have not been for a year or two now.
Oddly enough, my father and I just picked up some property and in the barn the seller left 4 big crates. We opened them up and it looks like some kind of climbing wall. Im kind of excited to see if I can get it put together and get back in climbing form.

Just a couple times when in Germany. Nothing formal or with gear. Went up the Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden a couple times the hard way. Also, for Pistol, go hike the goat trail around Lake Konigsee. When you get to the 2nd set of falls, start climbing. Good chance of running into some topless beauties at the different levels. Just don't get your camera out like my idiot friend. They promptly started putting shirts on, that camera almost set the high dive record. Took a dip to cool off after all the cliimbing. Just like Lake Superior.
