i believe any product shipped into the united states should have a 20-25% tax put on them and the repeal of all income taxes, including corporate income taxes.
that should put people back to work.....

You got that right...and up here in Canada theres loop holes for being Made in Canada...like percentages of total parts made in a Nafta country and then theres the companies that supply parts...they have loop holes too so in the end even if it says Made in the USA...it may be less then half actually manufactured in the USA. Same as up here...its your manufacturers in the USA and your companies in the USA that import and assemble that are responsible for a lot of this. Why did you let them do this? J/K

Stan Stan Stan...I am made in Canada...and if I recall correctly, you are too.
After a few years the leaf has washed off.
I better quit posting on this USA anti China thread...I'm off topic.
I do have to ask...when it comes to electronics...TV's etc...what is made in the USA? Best be tossing all that stuff to the dump. J/K

I had stated earlier that sometimes you don't have a choice. Lots of people complained about talking to Indians (the dot on the forehead kind) for tech support. Some companies went back to having people that actually could speak english. A majority of people saying no to their crap can make a difference.
If I have a choice I will buy American. If I do not I will try to buy from an American friendly country. If there are no other choices I will buy Chinese.

Who owns Sears? Doesn't K-Mart own them? Wait till the Energy Bill/Cap and Trade passes. American companies will be moving out. I wouldn't be surprised if the oil refineries move oversees. Someone above said food is about the only thing not coming from china-wrong. Went to Krogers and found a few items from china "yea my sis told me what to look for" but it's here. We've been sold out and nobody will take a stand. OK thru venting lol.

DTR's Locomotive Superhero and the DTR Sweet Tea Specialist
Yeah a General Motors, Electro-Motive Diesel Locomotive. They assemble them in Canada but they don't start them or turn them on till they reach the US, that way they are a US product still. GE still builds them in Erie PA, GM EMD use to build them in LaGrange IL but has closed most of that facilty and moved it north.

When I was in University I was a B.Comm business major and for a marketing class in our second yea we had to do consumer research where we went to stores and malls and polled people on country of origin labeling, of course nearly all of them went on and on about how they bought locally and only would buy things made in North america,
Then we would ask to look at what they had purchased and generally found that about 85% of their goods were produced over seas.

and who the heck is buying these NEXEN chinese tires that are all over ebay?
I bought a used car with them on it, and one of them has a busted cord in the carcass, or something
it wobbles all over.
