Morning!

Today is Tuesday, November 2nd.

On this day in 1776 - During the American Revolutionary War, William Demont, became the first traitor of the American Revolution when he deserted.

1783 - U.S. Gen. George Washington gave his "Farewell Address to the Army" near Princeton, NJ.

1889 - North Dakota and South Dakota were admitted into the union as the 39th and 40th states.

1895 - In Chicago, IL, the first gasoline powered car contest took place in America.

1920 - The first commercial radio station in the U.S., KDKA of Pittsburgh, PA, began regular broadcasting.

1930 - The DuPont Company announced the first synthetic rubber. It was named DuPrene.

1947 - Howard Hughes flew his "Spruce Goose," a huge wooden airplane, for eight minutes in California. It was the plane's first and only flight. The "Spruce Goose," nicknamed because of the white-gray color of the spruce used to build it, never went into production.

1948 - Harry S. Truman defeated Thomas E. Dewey for the U.S. presidency. The Chicago Tribune published an early edition that had the headline "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN." The Truman victory surprised many polls and newspapers.

1962 - U.S. President Kennedy announced that the U.S.S.R. was dismantling the missile sites in Cuba.

1998 - U.S. President Clinton gave his first in-depth interview since the White House sex scandal to Black Entertainment Television talk show host and political commentator Tavis Smiley on the network's "BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley."

2001 - The computer-animated movie "Monsters, Inc." opened. The film recorded the best debut ever for an animated film and the 6th best of all time.

2003 - In the U.S., the Episcopal Church diocese consecrated the church's first openly gay bishop.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your
thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going too ?

Coffee's ready. Leftover ph00 from yesterday.

Too early for liberals to be out of bed. I guess Teaparty members must be showing them what "hicks" can do. As Shovelhead said, "Take out the trash!"

Mornin. Hope my absentee ballot gets in with enough time. I only sent it out a month ago...

My trash is going out, too. Well, most if it.

Dreading going to work today. It's gonna be a crazy one.

I thought you had one of those ultra-dependable, won't ever break, left handed Macs?

Evening DTR

Im fine Scott, just been busy, and trying to keep dry. Unreal amounts of fain fell at home the last couple of days. Had to drive back to Marshall in it, but made the trip safe. Just settling in now.

Had a good weekend. Got a bunch of stuff done. Spent a bunch of time with the family. Got my 40ft gooseneck titled and registered in my name, so its officially mine.

Bough another truck over the weekend. Didnt intend to, but did. It was my first (new) truck that I had ever purchased. 2003 1500 SLT 4.7 V8 4x4 with a 5spd. I had ordered it (special order for standard) in November of 2002. Sold it to my lil bro in 2005. He decided that he wanted to get rid of it this weekend and I bought it back from him. It has 63k miles on it and is still in nearly perfect condition, but, it needs a tranny. Im looking to junk the NV3500 and stick a NV4500 in it, just to have another toy. I gave him, what he wanted for it, with the clunky tranny as is of course. 4000.00$

How is everyone?

You just kinda dropped off the face of DTR. Was worried about you! Well, maybe not worried exactly. 'Concerned' maybe? No. 'Mildly curious'? yeah, that's it!

Glad everything's ok!
