After Katrina or
Any major disaster what do you/we need for the first 3/4 weeks or even 6 months? How have you prepared your family or residence? What have you already stockpiled?

I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!
We have cows in the field, water in the river and the well, gasoline and diesel in the bulk tanks, generator in the shop, ammo in the pantry, rifles in the closet, pistols in the drawer, and cash in the..... well I'm not going to tell you that!!!!
Of course the only non 'man made' natural disaster that is going to happen here is Yellowstone blowing it's stack, and if that happens I'm going straight to Cody for a front row seat!!!

Load the RV and go.
We've got enough canned goods for a month, and the freezer is stocked. The RV is a toyhauler, so I can literally roll the freezer (small 5 cubic foot style) into the back end of the trailer, strap it down, and go. There is a 40 gallon gas tank on the RV so we've got fuel for the generator, or I can pickup some dry ice to keep the meat cold. And the two LP tanks are always full, or if need be I can "acquire" them. Of course we keep alot of juice boxes, Gatorade, etc., on hand for the kids and their friends which would be loaded up as well.
Water tanks can be filled prior to leaving as I have a 0.2 micron filtration device, please we have the 0.2 micron camping hand pumps made by Pur so water can be sourced from almost anywhere. Most of my camping gear is in the RV, so I don't even need to load it or go looking for it if I need it.
AR-15 and XD .45 for me, M1 Carbine and XDm 9mm for the wife. 10 loaded mags for each rifle, 3 for each pistol, plus extra ammo already in ammo cans. Ruger 10/22 for small game, if needed, plus 2 bricks of ammo for it.
50 gallon fuel tank on the tow rig which is kept at 80% for most of the time unless we're travelling in it.
Handheld GRMS radios with rechargable batteries and chargers for both 120VAC and 12V lighter connections, plus alkaline backups. Part of the camping gear since we camp in very remote areas.
I don't see it happening in Idaho, but we've got it.
