Aerials of Greensburg Tornado Damage

If any of you wonder what an F-5 tornado realy is.....winds were estimated at over 215 mph, the funnel was just over 1500 feet wide and it stayed on teh ground for just over 1.5 miles....

I talked to my buddy Kim last night, and he said there is nothing left of his parents house. Everything is laying on the ground and most of there belongings are probably gone too. His brothers house I guess faired out better, since he was on the very out skirts of the twister......but he still isn't sure if they can salvage his home. I feel so bad for these people......your whole life is shattered in a matter of minutes

I can't believe there isn't a way to break these things up before they start with all of our modern technology.

There is!!!!! its a "proven" theory that a tornado CAN be stopped...... however, they havent figured out what to do with teh fall otu from the small nuclear devise required to do it!

Wow. I feel so sorry for those people but at the same time I'm completely fascinated with the shear brute strength of mother nature. That's beyond brutal. I was listening to the news when I woke up this afternoon and they said that most people just aren't gonna do anything about it and just move on. Can't say I blame em.

My Aunt and Uncle live there. Well lived there. I was home the last few days helping them clean up. Everything is gone. My uncle is a contractor and their house, shop, office, and equipment is all gone except for a couple pieces of machinery. President Bush walked up to the house and talked to us for about 15 or 20 minutes. If you watch his statement to the press, the red brick house in the background is my family's. Along with the forklift with the american flag at the top of the forks in the air. Some of them are in the background too. I'm wearing a purple t-shirt at the end of one of the vids shaking the president's hand. ( http://edition.cnn.com/video/player/...amage.pool.cnn ) Ok enough of me being famous He really did a good thing coming and showing support. Everyone's mood went from terrible to "wow, the whole nation cares about us and is showing support". Words and pictures can't even come CLOSE to how it looks. I'm still stunned by it. The first time I went into town, (day after) I was in awe of how something that powerful exists and the damage it can do. I'll get some pictures up once I find my camera cord. Thanks for the support everyone. I didn't live in Greensburg but I live 10 minutes from there and spent half of my high school life over there with my friends and family. Keep praying for everyone involved.

These are simply amazing photos!
No tto make light of things, but bet you can get a good deal on a JD Combine if you dont mind doing a little fixing !]

Hays resident Brad Riney was in the sleeper cab of his blue tractor trailer truck waiting to deliver a John Deere combine to the implement dealer in Greensburg, Kan., when Friday's tornado struck. Here are photos he took of the aftermath of the devastating tornado
