They tend to run only about 20 mph and only travel at night, suprize you say they are traveling during the morning. Looks cool in a parking lot but not in your windshield when you are behind it.

I would not want to ride down a steep mountain in one of those, even with three rigs attached to provide extra braking

Heidi....No this was sent to me from an old friend, He didn't say but I am assuming his brother took it because he runs a ranch down around Buena Vista Co. somewhere. I bet he eats at the Gunsmoke TS.

Looks like a generator. I would guess maybe 100 megawatt.

Once saw, at the time, largest piece ever moved by land. It was an autoclave going to a mine in NV from SLC was moved in the daylight. I know what you mean most of the oversize is run at night but the really big stuff is moved during daylight because of all the extra support an safety needed. It was so big it only made it like 6-7 miles a day and they had trucks equipped with hydlic jacks to help support overpasses.

I wouldn't want to put it in Georgia overdrive to see how fast it will go.
Wonder how many guys it takes to do their pretrips.

Oh an Heidi I don't know if trains or tracks can support that. Someone out their will be able to answer that.

A friend of ours that has a trucking business just got into the heavy haul. He got one truck with 4 axles in back, and a trailer with all of those scrtions on it. His lenght all put together is 105 feet. in just a couple of loads, he paid it off and got a second rig. He had to hire a guy with experience and special permits to drive it and the company that he's hauling for makes the driver pass a road test before he gets each load.

it's an amazing truck. The nose on it seems like it's 15 feet long. The cat engine under the hood is the biggest thing I've ever seen. Theres a ton of air gauges in the cab that will tell him how much weight is on each wheel.

He's hauling giant cranes with them. He takes one big truck and several small truck (small meaning regular 18 wheelers) to haul other crane parts and several pilot cars on a trip. It's a heck of an operation to see first hand.

And a plus, it sure is handy to have a buddy permitted to haul several hundred tons. There's nothing I'll ever need help moving that he can't do. Heck, he can literally haul several of my houses in one trip and not be overloaded.
