vehicles have definitely improved over the years.
At one time, a vehicle was ready for the scrap yard at 50,000 miles.
Not too long ago, 50,000 miles was time for a rebuild (that you done in your driveway) by 100,000 miles, it was ready for the scrap yard.
Now, we are talking about how the engine isn't even broke in till 100K miles

That is very impressive! It's impressive for a diesel, let alone a gasser; and since it was a taxi, you know those weren't highway miles. But he probably replaced everything in the engine except for the block...
