I must have missed it. Is this a YJ, XJ or ZJ? Big difference in suspension setups. Have the tires been balanced? I've had wheel weights fall off causing new found vibrations. Have you checked the unit bearing(s)? Great idea on checking the driveshafts. Remove the front driveshaft and go for test drive. When removing the rear driveshaft for test drive make it a short trip around the block. The transfer case will leak ATF.

Like mentioned in the post above, check to make sure your tires are balanced, and there are weights on each rim. We had a similar problem with our 89 Comanche, we would be going down the road, and it would just start shaking. We finally figured out that we had gotten enough mud in the rim that it was making the tires unbalanced, a little bit of spraying with the water hose cleaned it right up. Check the small stuff, like I mentioned.

Somthing to think about if you go mudding dont forget to wash the backs of the tyres. And check your steering stabliser this looks like a shock on the front end.
