RR1, probably not. When peaches are in full bloom a temp of 23f is considered a 95% kill temp. We hit 25 here so I've probably lost 80% of the peaches and 75% of the pears. This is three years in a row!!!!
I want my peaches!!! Whaaaaa
At least it's sunny and warmer today, mid 60's
I can finish up the flower beds and maybe get the veggie garden tilled this evrning
RR1, here ya go:
To check for low temperature injury that has already occurred, use a sharp knife or a single edge razor blade and cut buds in half. Remove buds from the tree and make the cut starting at the base and cutting upward. If the fruit pistil (see image) in the center is greenish-white to cream color, no damage has been done. However, if the fruit pistil is dark brown or black, it has been killed. Cut a number of buds to find a percentage killed.
Some loss of buds is actually beneficial for peaches and apples. These trees often produce far too much fruit and require thinning for top quality. As a rule, we want an apple and average of every four inches and a peach and average of every six to eight inches on a branch. We can often achieve this with only 10% of the original buds developing fruit
Peach
10% Kill 90% Kill
Stage (°F) (°F)
Swollen bud 18 2
Half-inch green 23 5
Pink 25 18
Bloom 27 24
Petal fall 28 25
Fruit set 28 25

Been in that yard all day - - sore and tired. Finishing up the weeding, pruning, fertilizing, mulching. Laid another 40 bags of mulch today after doing all the other stuff. 15 more to go and done. YAAAAA.
OK grabbing a ph00 and don't bother me if my eyes are closed and I am snoring.

There is no G. There is no G. Repeat after me, THERE IS NO G!
Tallguy, mix them all in. 2 sugars and one milk please
Been having great weather here too. Use plenty of sunscreen. I got burned the last couple days in the pool
How's Kitty?
Can you imagine if we added a Lab for every kid at DisneyWorld at DisneyWorld?
Bob, so that was you in the yard hat laying mulch when I went for my job around the loop today? Boy those guys sure do work hard. And I notice the HOA employs a certain landscape company early and often. Guess that's good considering the dues we pay Show me something nice!
Hop in the pool and cool off.
Soooo what're we doing for dinner? I'm a Bachelorette for a while. So I can host or I can mooch.
