Morning everyone. Just back from my cardio who has gone crazy with tests on me. Guess he wants to make sure Alaska did not ruin me. Just got a call from the tests so far. All is looking great - - absolutely no sign of anything wrong and is amazed that 14 years later it all looks so good after such an episode back then. That is always good to hear. Said my heart does not look or sound any older than about 92 - - hey, good to hear. ..............I think. ..............

Grabbing a ph00 and go have breakfast. Y'all be good.

Good afternoon all and sundry. Hope everybody is having a good day. Tasted what was left of Lary's goodies. Kinda crunchy, but can't say that the taste really turns me on. Lot's left, so it looks like not too many folks have partaken.

Cougar, did you have much damage?

Just returned from a trip to get my Sulastic's changed. Although it was not entirely necessary, the company elected to install new Sulastic's. They did acknowledge that their previous installation was faulty. I can feel the difference in the ride now that they are installed correctly. Also, the noises from the back have vanished. Apparently the team that they have have doing the installations now are a new team and the installation on my truck a few weeks ago was the first that they had done on this kind of vehicle. For this job I stayed close to them the entire time and watched every move like a hawk. They did give me a new warranty, starting today. Tomorrow morning will get under the truck and check everything thoroughly, including bolt tensions.

The Sulastic factory is located in the next state, Guanajuato, and that state has the sad reputation of having bad roads. Parts of the highway were very bad. Lots of repaired areas and most repairs are failing. Have never understood why here in Mexico that there always seems be money available to repair the roads over and over, sometimes the same holes every year after the rainy season, but never any money to do the repair once, the right way. Anyway, my Sulastic's got well broken in on the way home. My home state, Queretaro, has for the most part, much better roads.

Just in case anyone is interested, at 1800 rpm, the speedo is reading 66 mph. That speed cross checks with my GPS, which also confirms that the speedo is calibrated correctly for my tire size. 1900 rpm shows 70 mph and 2200 rpm shows 80 mph. At one time while cruising along at 66 mph a little Smart car passed me. Bet he was peddling about as fast as he could go. Had to smile as I looked down on that little thing when it passed me.

Till tomorrow. Maybe.

HEAR YEE, HEAR YEE - - - ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE SHREW MAN IS ALIVE AND MOSTLY WELL.

Just talked with Forrest (Bark) and he has been down sick. He says it is because he is stupid and would not go to the doctor that it has taken so long to get over it. So, he is still among us, just under the weather. Said to say hi. I was teasing him asking if he was sucking on Shrew Juice to try and get well. ...............................So, we can expect him to be back on line pretty quickly - - he sounded pretty good.

Heading into the beddy bye - - wifey is not feeling very good tonight after her root canal - - better go keep her company. Morry.

Mornin' all!

Just finished up the annual 'Log to Lumber' program for the kids in high school shop class. Had the TV station come out and do a segment on it too. Been a busy week!

OK, Stan - - go outside for those kinds of noises. Shame on you. Hey, did not notice Sasquatch in the pic until you mentioned it. Interesting!!!!

Grabbing a ph00 to hold me until the restaurant. Meeting Marian's bro for breakfast in a few minutes. Then, back home to work and get some things done around here. Slowly, so slowly - - trouble is I am adding more things in the bucket than I am taking out. It is full. GGGRRRR Later gator. Maybe Bark will feel good enough to fire up the peuter today.

That's good news. I was beginning to be afraid to take any more pot shots at the Shrewd commander. Now I feel free.

Mobile home slid on the foundation causing things to fall over, but no damage to the building. Fortunately, whoever made the foundation planned ahead. This thing can slide in any direction without falling off. Wife had a lot of clean up to do. Cat is fine, went straight back to being a cat (zzZZzz). Had a few books fall off the shelves at the shop. The aircraft I had on jacks stayed on the jacks. No damage to the building other than tripping the gas shut off. Some areas around Anchorage go hit a bit harder. Lots of stuff falling over and some minor building damage.
Otherwise, just another cold and frosty morning.

Happy Saturday all y'all. It is cold and drizzling on the edge of the prairies today. Cougar, glad you got through the earthquake ok. Tonight will be a fun night, we have family on the way. Last Sunday was my birthday but my sister's family had stuff going on that prevented them coming for a vist. So, instead we will be celebrating tonight. The ribs are already braising and will go on the bbq after 5 hours of low and slow. Good food, good family and fun times are the best birthday party you can ask for.
I am sorry to hear that Bark has been under the weather. I just assumed he had gone on a fun trip somewhere. Hopefully he will be back in the saddle or the Subaru soon.
Have a safe and fun Satruday everyone.

Made it back from the car show with all the major parts still in one piece. The parade dang near killed it though. At the end, it had a bad shudder at low speed. Did manage to win second in the year class though.

Now to figure out the shudder. I think it is going to be timing, it wants 22 BTC. Timing plate on the engine block only goes to 10. Guess I'll use the calibrated ear.

Friend of mine just stuck a deer in my woods. 85 degrees, hope he finds it soon. Could really go for some tenderloin on the grill for supper!

See ya!
