**sob** It broke!

Had a rather interesting drive into work last night. About a mile from the site, the right, lower tie rod snapped. I've never experienced a front end wobble like that while driving something other than a motorcycle. Thankfully I was only doing around 60kph and wasn't on the interstate at the time.

That kind of thing can be very scary. Glad to hear that there was no accident or problems. If it were my truck I would install new tie rod ends on both sides, check the entire front end and get an alignment.

Ouch.. Both sides got replaced. Once they got under the truck, found the left side was cracked, too. Gotta love these great roads in Ontario. **sigh**

So,,,,,,,,,,,,, tell us Tom,,,,,,,,,,,,,

On a scale of 1 to 10,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, what was the "Pucker Factor" rating?

Sure am glad it only resulted in hurting the wallet and nothing else!

Had a lower ball joint break when coming to a stop in my old '65 Chevy over in Spain. Had bought the car a couple months before and was driving on base stopping at a crosswalk for a pedestrian when it broke. I had planned on leaving the base and hitting the freeway but hadn't gotten that far. That sure woke me up.

I've personally seen 2 cars up here where one of the upper ball joints broke and the wheel laid down about 60 degrees from where it's supposed to be. I couldn't imagine that happening at highway speeds!
