Sorry about that Bob. I saw the radar earlier and it didn't look too good down your way. Sucks having Alabama weather huh?

You'd be glad if it were in your neighborhood!

Mornin'.

Today is Friday, April 1st.

On this day in 1621 - The Plymouth, MA, colonists created the first treaty with Native Americans.

1826 - Samuel Mory patented the internal combustion engine.

1853 - Cincinnati became the first U.S. city to pay fire fighters a regular salary.

1865 - At the Battle of Five Forks in Petersburg, VA, Gen. Robert E. Lee began his final offensive.

1918 - England's Royal Flying Corps was replaced by the Royal Air Force.

1924 - Adolf Hitler was sentenced to five years in prison for high treason in relation to the "Beer Hall Putsch."

1929 - Louie Marx introduced the Yo-Yo.

1933 - **** Germany began the persecution of Jews by boycotting Jewish businesses.

1934 - Bonnie & Clyde killed 2 police officers.

1945 - U.S. forces invaded Okinawa during World War II. It was the last campaign of World War II.

1954 - The U.S. Air Force Academy was formed in Colorado.

1972 - North Vietnamese and Viet Cong troops renewed their offensive in South Vietnam.

1976 - Apple Computer began operations.

1985 - World oil prices dropped below $10 a barrel.

1999 - The Canadian territory of Nunavut was created. It was carved from the eastern part of the Northwest Territories and covered about 772,000 square miles.

2001 - China began holding 24 crewmembers of a U.S. surveillance plane. The EP-3E U.S. Navy crew had made an emergency landing after an in-flight collision with a Chinese fighter jet. The Chinese pilot was missing and presumed dead. The U.S. crew was released on April 11, 2001.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why's it still #2?

Coffee's on.

Interesting, Scott - - oil below $10 a barrel 25 years ago. Hmmmm, has your paycheck increased by 10 times in the past 25 years? If not, you are behind, baby. The paycheck of the ARABS has. We have to get our production up to cover our needs and keep pulling our needs down. Gotta do it.

Busy day today - - lots done - - mama is up and doing some better. Still not getting near her and she doesn't like it. She always has to touch me when she is in bed - - this foot comes wandering around in the bed finding me while I chuckle while moving to make her miss. Games at 2am - - fun. Now I am in the other room for this episode - - she says she wakes up with her legs tired - - probably from wandering all over the bed all night trying to find me. .....
\
On Edit - - just noticed no one posted since our daily digest today - - where is everyone? Hurricane? Sunami? I know it isn't the Rapture? Hmmmm?????

I still have mixed feelings about that one. They never should have landed there. I know it was in bad shape but some reports indicate the plane might have made it back to Japan or gone to Thailand or anyplace rather than fly it the seventy miles to the very island it was spying on. Additionally, they had parachutes. I know, I wasnt there and might have done the same thing (and needed new underwear) but the amount of info the Chinese stole off the aircraft may never be known.
