working on those phone pics to post here......lab ranch was like being a kindergarten teacher at Disneyworld......

diesel engine swap soon, waiting on gasket kit. cold, snow but the sun did prove it's existence soooooooo I believe summer will come, maybe be over 50 degrees too.

Good coffee just how railroaders like it. It was almost 80 sat. Now it's 31 and snow I don guess the blooms on my peach trees will make it.

RR1, probably not. When peaches are in full bloom a temp of 23f is considered a 95% kill temp. We hit 25 here so I've probably lost 80% of the peaches and 75% of the pears. This is three years in a row!!!!
I want my peaches!!! Whaaaaa

I can finish up the flower beds and maybe get the veggie garden tilled this evrning

To check for low temperature injury that has already occurred, use a sharp knife or a single edge razor blade and cut buds in half. Remove buds from the tree and make the cut starting at the base and cutting upward. If the fruit pistil (see image) in the center is greenish-white to cream color, no damage has been done. However, if the fruit pistil is dark brown or black, it has been killed. Cut a number of buds to find a percentage killed.
Some loss of buds is actually beneficial for peaches and apples. These trees often produce far too much fruit and require thinning for top quality. As a rule, we want an apple and average of every four inches and a peach and average of every six to eight inches on a branch. We can often achieve this with only 10% of the original buds developing fruit
