Bark - I guess I misunderstood Mom's earlier post. I hope you haven't booked your flight yet. Honestly though, I think you would add a special ambiance to the wedding. Heck, you would probably 'class up' the event a bit.

Scotty - that just sucks. Our big septic backup into basement last spring happened in the middle of a combo event - Easter Dinner and my niece's birthday dinner. We go off way luckier than you though, our basement is framed and partly drywalled but we caught the flood early and our septic guy got here quickly. After all was said and done, we ended up losing 2 garbage bags full of stuff that wasn't particularly valuable either financially or sentimentally. Sorry about your situation.

Turd boat races in the new stream in the basement?

Afternoon all.

Time to go feed the smoke dragon in the yard. The new wood I cut for it yesterday don't do so well. It smokes and smoulders and gives off very little heat. Takes about 6 hours to get it to 'burn', then it just turns to ash without even getting the boiler up to temperature.

Scotty - - you having problems up there? You know better than play around with that stuff - - you always come out on the stinky side of life. ............

Good church this morning, new pastor starts next week. Should be interesting. My class was jammed. All those Yankees decided it was time to come south. More headed down this week. Several commented they are starting to look for a place to buy down here and sell their place up north. Been down here long enough to get smart. ..........

Company walking up the front walkway - - me gone.

Hmmmm need advise on how to handle this one....

THE BOSS emptied out the bedroom closet, and at her bequest, I painted it ...
The closet is 12 foot deep and 5 foot wide.. hanging rods down on whole side and shelves on the others...

Ive been advised that I may hang up to 3, yes THREE, shirts... the rest need to hang from the floor joist braces in the basement I guess....

Should I :
a) sigh, say "yes dear" and figure out which 3 shirts to keep?
b) laugh and using my boot to compact her hanging items,, make room for my stuff?
or
c) wait till she isn't home and spray the closet with skunk scent from the local hunting shop....thereby creating lots of room for my stuff

what yall think?, Im leaning towards B myself, but C sure sounds interesting..

Stacked them at the boiler. By this time it was almost 1800 and I was beat. Sat down in front of the 'puter and promptly fell asleep until 2200.

Took a while but I finally got the driveway open:

Now it's snowing again.
Guess you shouldn't have stopped plowing huh?

As cougar said, I didn't sign up for this either. We plan on it being at least 40°f colder this time of the year.
I can't even go ice fishing now unless I want to risk sleeping with the fishes.
Hmmm, I complain when its too cold and complain when its too hot.
Maybe I should pay better attention to the times when everything is just right.

Chris, far be it for me to give advice, BUT you asked. Number 1 most important rule 'Happy Wife = Happy Life'. Choose your 3 shirts and remember that SHE is the boss.

Feb 6 too little too late. City trees penetrate the old corrugated pipe. This spring it's all getting replaced. Sooner if it backs up again. Lots of work ahead. Thankful for insurance.
Total upheaval here. Crappy lol

Managed to get birthday done.
When I was a kid living in the city, the sanitary and storm sewer systems were tied together. When they installed an underpass under the rail road about 2 blocks away, the sewer would surcharge and back up into basements during heavy rain fall.

Dad had a solution. There was a floor drain and a toilet in the basement. When a storm came, one of us would go down and screw about a 4 foot standpipe into the drain, and put a ball in the toilet and tie the lid down tight over it. That crap (pun intended) went on for about 10 years before they fixed the sewers.

Smooth move Chris I was going to suggest "B" with an explanation letting her know that while you would do anything for her she needs to respect that you need a little closet space too

My Mom really tries to learn this computer stuff but she is still mad at me over the new mouse I bought her.
She liked it until she picked it up and looked into the red light coming out of its "stomach" and couldn't see right for 10 minutes.
When I told her it was a laser, she wanted me to get it out of the house.

And you let her store clothes in it? That's a perfect space to store two motorcycles and the fishing gear for the winter.
I suppose she could keep some clothes in the bottom to catch any oil drips.

Good morning. How is everybody in DTR land? It is MONDAY, doesn't that bring a smile to your face? No? Have some coffee, or some of DTR's ph00. It is freshly made. The operative word there is 'fresh'. Too early to leave any munchies on the counter, but may swing by in a while and leave something fresh. Oop's that could also have a double meaning.

Nothing very spectacular to report. In any case, none of you are interested in me running around outside in shorts enjoying this beeeeuuutiful weather.

Scotty, man-oh-man, you sure have some rough times. Glad that things worked out anyway. It doesn't help when certain members here just make fun of your bad luck. Turd races!!!!!!!!! Sheesh!!!!!!

Chris, whatever happened to marriage being a 50/50 deal? When it comes to closet space, it is reasonable for the man to be allocated 25%, but not just enough space for 3 shirts. If it does come to that, make sure that they are your dirtiest and smelliest shirts. However, if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. So it sounds like you are between the proverbial rock and a hard place. Poor guy!

A fine good morning to all the sniffers. Gorgeous morning here today. Dreary and rain all day yesterday. Guess that mess heading south will be here about Thursday. You Canucks can keep it - - we've had enough. ..........................

Don't know if you have toured the "underground" area in Seattle, but your story reminded me of that. This is in a commercial area and right on the bay. Sewer lines ran up the hill into the bay with no backflow devices, etc. (nice thought -- into the bay - - yuk). They had public toilets along the commercial streets like fancy outhouses. When the tide was exceptionally high, all the business on the low end and the outhouses would flood as the ones up the hill flushed. You can picture what the mess was like. Many ingenious little things being down "downstream" to quench the flow of yuk.

Bobby Baby does not deserve a name like PCBob................After teaching computer logic in college in my 20's, repairing the huge IBM computers and having computers in my business and home for almost 40 years, I still sometimes think I am a baby when these things go haywire. These idiots are always trying something else to mess us up and the electronics get smaller and more complex every year. I always pull the case on my new computers to what they have done to them since the last new one. ............

Our last house had a 9' x 22' closet in the master bedroom. I would walk in, look around for my stuff and it was never laying on the floor in MY corner where I left it. All I could see was HER stuff. DUH. Forget this 50/50 stuff when it comes to closets. .........................and your mom sounds like my neighbor across the street. She does the dumest things for a very smart lady on the computer - - she is a riot. And so are you - - her clothes under the motorcycles to catch the drips. Funny. And quite provocative - -like a punch in the nose provocative. OUCH

Grabbing my ph00 and heading out - - easy day today, company leaving in the morning to go drive into the mouth of the storm moving south. They looked at property over the weekend. They are planning to retire and move down within a year. They have had with the winter up there and he does not need to keep on working. See ya.

Greetings. Thanks for all the input and suggestions.
When I looked at the piles floating around I suggested to my wife that we build little sails for them so Skottkwa wasn't far off. My wife complimented me for not getting my turds in a knot about the turds on the floor. I laughed and said; "trust me turds don't tie into knots."

The look on her face was a mix of concern and curiosity.

Allturd phoo goo on the counter. Literally

That closet is bigger than my office. Office is 6X10. And every piece of clothing I own is in here too. In a bag. On the floor.

Morning all.

Started at 0400 again this morning. Filled the OWB, plowed the yard. Refilled the OWB and just got back in. This weather is getting real old, real fast. Not supposed to get above 5 today. Loader doesn't really care for the below 0 temps, but it hasn't gelled up yet. Strange to see the hydraulics operate like they're cold even after 3 hours of constant operation.

Gonna take a quick nap, then go fill a friends boiler as his doesn't make it all day either in this weather, plow his yard, then start plowing mine again. I feel like I'm working for the Road Commission.
