In that case, drill em Then hammer out the remnants. Then take 400grit paper, clean the leaf eye, wipe, then apply some grease and the new bushing ought to slip in with relatively minimal fuss which ever method, press or tap.

Hey, anyone seen Chaikwa this morning?

Carli have told me that I can remove the old and install the new bushings using a hammer, socket and a flat head screwdriver.

Chris, that video made me smile. Thanks.
What I usually use to drive out things when I'm laying on my back is an air hammer.

Take a blank punch, cut it off short and grind a 3/8" square on the end of it, like a socket extension, then sacrifice a farm store socket the right size for a driver.

I can change a U joint in place in minutes. Should work good on spring bushings also.

Short is the key. The less metal you're pushing with the impact, the more effective it is.

Bobby, blew out a tennie? Yer gonna have to dig down in that tight wallet and buy some high performance treads.

JM, I want to visit your castle.....you sound inventive!!

Stan, think you are playing the game of 'operation'. tight clearances on the factory suggested removal, lose only time, not a finger.

Shorts, pup pup never left you. sounds like you should fax yourself down south of de border to watch over Stan the man.

also, don't they have a show about finding susquatch? no worries, chaikwa is busier than me.

Top, glad you offered Shorts some of your "wow, I feel so much better now"
health tox......

back to work/fun....

Well this figures. The one day I have to leave early, Top serves a gormay breakfast.

I am in/on the outskirts of Ludington Michigan. Everyone told me how beautiful this area is. Mmmkay. Out my hotel window I see a roof 3 feet away and at eye level. Across the hall, the window there looks out upon a beautiful Home Depot. And across the street is junkyard. Yep, it's gorgeous here.

RR1, those are some pretty intense pictures! Hope you heal as pain free as possible.

Shorts, I'm putin' MY money on YOU! I wish we could bring back Chester for you tho... I think the feel of his coat would be somewhat of a comfort right about now.

Stan, good luck with the project. It sounds like a beast but maybe that will straighten out the ride.

I had to go back and find what you were talking about. Dude, that's gnarly! Considering how bad it could have been you are blessed. Praying for continued healing my friend.

Uh Lary, it's a funny thing about adding a second story on the old outhouse. Even though there's no running water of the potable variety, the third rule of plumbing still applies. I think I would have added on the back first.

My money is on the lawyers. They're the only ones who will come out of this with more than when they started.

Evening folks!

Time for night night.
Thank yall for a good day and good conversation. I do think about every single one of you at night when I say my prayers. The Man upstairs knows the DTR crowd.

Would love to see Chester tonight. Chaikwa what I'd give to rub my fingers through his coat, give him a big hug and feel him breathe.

Signing papers tomorrow morning. Guess my lawyer won

Anyway, it was slow in the ER for this time of year so I got to talk with a couple of doctors for quite awhile.
They showed me their recent stats and said that because of Obama care they can now only average 1.7 patients an hour. Down from over 3 per hour.
Its due to the mandatory electronic medical records part of the bill making them take huge amounts of time that they used to spend with patients.
One of the ER doctors who has worked there for 21 years is retiring this year solely because of Obama care.
