Needing a weight transfer hitch

Needing a weight transfer hitch
As stated my 1500 doesn't handle tongue weight like my 3500.....DUH!!!!.
My dually would squat MAYBE 1/2" where the 1500 squats around 2" - 3".
......
In order to tow my Wells Cargo safely, I'll need a W.T. hitch.
Any opinions on Curt hitches? Is there a better choice?
I've been reading some online and there seems to be a 50/50 split on round bar vs trunion style bars.
Is one really better than the other..or is it a Ford vs Chevy kind of choice?
Thanks for the assistance.

Weight Ditributing Hitch?
They are all pretty much the same, just make sure that you select the proper spring bars for the application. Your utility trailer is probably stout enough to carry any extra stress transferred to the frame from too-stiff bars, but the ride will suffer, as will your tires and springs (and shackles).

The kind of bars make little or no difference. I am not familar with the Curt hitch. I use a Reese and it works fine. Reese bars come 600, 800, 1000 lbs. It is not really critical. Get the tongue weight and get the bars to match. Airstream trailers are fragile so some use light bars with stiff trucks.

I've had both (Eaz lift and Equalizer). Round bars are definitely less expensive and quieter, but you have to remove the round bars before you drive around unhitched or they'll fall out. I'd look at airbags too, I have a coworker with a truck like yours and he pulls a 25' toy hauler with bags. That coil-spring rear set-up on the 1500 could use the help.

Air springs interfere with the operation of a WDH. Need to set the springs first, then set the WDH to proper values on a certified scale. No adjustments to air springs afterwards. So, if the "weight transfer" is inadequate, adjust the hitch per instructions. Some tail squat is normal with properly adjusted WD on lightly sprung pickups. So long as the FA value is the same before and after hitching, all is good (relatively).

The Curt hitch folks called and said there would be an indefinate wait for shipping.
I asked why, they stated "Their hitches are under 'Engineering Review', and they had no idea when they would be shipping new ones."
I got a refund and ordered a Reese.
Got the trailer hooked up on Monday with the day off.
Spent some time getting the head angle right so the bars wouldn't interfere with the trailer while turning.
Drove it with 5 links, then with 6 links, both times trailer unloaded.
Felt pretty good, but definately NOT like towing with the dually.
The diesel dually drove about the same with or without the trailer.
I KNOW the trailer is back there with the 1500 gasser.
Still pulls good, just more throttle required....and I'm sure the MPGs are going to suffer.
