I didn't make it all that way out there, only about an hour trip before I got a call from MikeD(thanks Mike, I really appreciate that call). Im just angry on behalf of all of our members that made the trip. That was really not good for business.

i want to add that i made this call to cancel the eventbut it wasnot done so until about 3pm.the fact is with the rain fall we have had and are going to have the track could never be safely prepped for the race tomoorow and the ditches are level full at the track.the pull could not be held nd i felt to wait until morning when people had long trips to make was wrong.i am sorry once again...

Just got home from Creswell, long day. Sorry I didn't get down to the dyno event to see everyone. By the time we got the word that the event was canceled it was just too long of a haul for me to stick around.

Little can be done about the weather.

I apologize to the guys I talked into heading down with me from my area.

I got some good footage and pics at the dyno. Might even throw out a quik flik video to the song " I can see clearly now".

All I can say is, that was very different from any event I've ever been to. But, wow, did the Die Hards ever show up for that part. It was actually kinda cool except for losing my shoe in some mud.

Plus I got my O ringed head back from Tim!!! Got some work to do tomorrow.

I did get a chance to talk with a few old friends and the trip down there gave my grandson and I some time together. Actually our drive was pretty rain free until we got about 20 miles from the track. As soon as we got about 20 miles away headed home, the rain stopped and the sun even tried coming out the further north we went.
Jess,
I started to go down to your place with David and Mike, but I figured the weather was going to get even worse with the way the thunder and lightning had started to come up. Being that it's only 116 miles down to the track, I'll keep an ear out if you decide to reschedule in the future.
I know from the VADTR doing the Claremont events,,,, you are at the mercy of Mother Nature when it comes to the weather and trying to schedule stuff months in advance doesn't help matters either.

There's always next time.

Well regardless of the the rain out, I know I still had a great time!

Jess, my sincere thanks to you, your sponsors, OBX Dragway, the NHRDA Officials and everyone who did show-up to race. It was BAD on Saturday and when we all left the drag strip at about 2:00 P.M. the water was over the little drainage ditch next to the asphalt road. I know that myself, Johnner, Mike D., Brian and Sandy B and a few others crossed through about 2-3 inches of water in that ditch and it was still coming down pretty good!

On a positive note, we were able to drag race "test and tune" on Friday night and the weather then was pretty darn good, cool, etc. I saw my good friends from Scheid Diesel, Dan, Bo and Jared go faster than they ever have in the eighth mile with the Scheid Dragster running 4.6@153 MPH!! Their 60ft. time on that run was a VERY LOW 1.09!! My SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS to Dan Scheid and the entire Crew on that fantastic run! They have had some problems in the past but it seems that now they have gotten all of that solved and I wish them great success in 2008!

It was great to have met some new faces and to see old friends again! I also want to than Stephen (chrome dome) for letting us stay at his place in Creswell! Thanks Stephen!

Jess, let us know if you plan something else up there and you know we will be there. Sorry about the weather but as you know having had that happen to me TWICE at our "N.C. Dyno nad Drag Race" Events, sometimes it happens!

Thanks again.

Good seeing everyone again and stinks about the weather but it happens. When I got to greenville alot of the streets there were even flooded and to much water for the storm drains to handle as hard as it was raining.

by the way rain date is gona be first saturday of next month.only time ken can get a pulling sled for the next few months.racing classes will include superstreet and et brackets.no way will be able to get the prostreets or team Schied back on such a short notice.a new payout structure will be released soon.i know this is short notice and right after TS but the track owner and sled promotor see no other option.
